I've spent I'd guess $300 AUD since I started playing in 2013.
I would not enjoy playing without: - 1 premium (trade) tab - 1 currency tab - 1 map tab - 1 stash tab bundle (6 extra blank normal tabs). That amounts to 390 points or $54 based on current USD to AUD exchange rate. So my take is the game costs $54 for ME to play it. For each person this figure will be different as I'm a bare bones kinda player. For players who enjoy collecting/trading/crafting the "Quality of Life" price could be $100 to $200 AUD... maybe a little more for players who stash uncontrollably. Path of Exile does not cost a cent to play, but the only way to get more stash space is the cash shop. The convenience these extra stashes provide is night and day difference. It's like a Caveman suddenly thrust into the modern world of cold beers and hot showers. All that said it is totally worth it. Path of Exile is amaze balls! I hate it when people tell new players that poe is free to play and then say nothing else.
The reality is if you want to get shit done at endgame you have to spend money. Practically every person that is posting on general discussion pays money, and the reason is usually not because they totally love ggg and want to support the company. The real reason is because you are severely handicapped if you don't pay. |
