I feel devastated.

As someone who appreciates the love and hard work that GGG puts into their games, I purchased several of the massive supporter packs, the yearly ones. I was given the signed pictures that were VERY high quality. I loved them, I loved the maps I was given for each atlas league and I've enjoyed wearing the sweaters from time to time..

Recently we moved across the US, from Texas to Delaware. My parents, which I live with, insisted that I not carry the signed pictures with us. I spent nearly 30 minutes talking to them about how valuable they were to me, but they insisted on having the movers pack them. For a few days now, we've been scouring boxes trying to find other missing items. While searching for these other missing items, that are in a completely different box. I noticed the box that had the pictures in them, and I was instantly reminded of the pictures. Then it hit me, compartment that had the pictures in them is just gone. It completely destroyed me instantly. I couldn't breathe, I felt like someone that I knew, who was precious to me, passed away. I immediately fell onto my knees in distraught. It wasn't labelled anywhere on the documents of a moved item, and I just feel devastated..

I wanted to frame them and finally have a place to set them up to look nice, but to just have them removed from my life feels so painful. I don't know what to do..

I wanted to make this a heartbroken message. Never let someone else move your most precious things.

I am very sorry to hear this. That icewater in your gut feeling when you realize something isn't right is a horrible experience, and it takes a long time before it really goes away. Truly sorry about your experience. =-[.]-=

I would inquire with a lawyer over whether you should sue.

Ugh I am sorry to hear this. When I moved across country I got lucky and what I thought I lost I found.

Movers broke an antique crystal bowl though. You can forget suing them though. They are like modern day pirates and not under any jurisdiction (interstate commerce). You can't sue at destination state (they are based in another state) and you can't sue in the state they are based in (interstate commerce). This may depend on the state though it was my experience. You moved from the same state I did btw. Even TX state atty general will not answer a complaint.

Have you tried a claim with your insurance?

I know it sucks. :(

Quick question. Were they personalised?

I tend to view signed stuff on two levels. There's the personalised stuff that you usually have to get done yourself and thus carry with them the memory of the event of meeting said person, and then there's the non-personalised signed stuff which carries value on the notion that it is has been briefly touched by someone "famous" rather than simply manufactured and sold.

I am truly sorry for your loss either way but can possibly help if it was the latter and you want replacements rather than mere financial restitution as others here are suggesting.

Part of me wants a GGG dev to see this thread and have a heart and provide replacements but chances are TencentGGG can't do that sort of thing. Would *love* to be wrong.

PS I spent the majority of my time in the US in Delaware. Late 90s and early 2000s. It was pretty crap but we'll put that down to the ex wife and our poverty. OTOH if you're gonna be poor a state with no sales tax isn't the worst option...

Reminds me of flying home from a big tech conference and tussling with airport security over being allowed to carry my etched crystal Young investigators award on vs. checking it.

I had to check it. I said goodbye, wrapped it in all my clothes to pad it, hoped for the best.

Got my things home and opened my suitcase to find absolute shrapnel everywhere. Not surprised, but really sad.

Maybe if I'd filled it with scotch and upgraded to first class, I coulda kept it on me. :ascii-shrug: Oh well 4 years of work and a couple nice publications, can't complain.

ps: its possible the pain comes from lost relationship, from lost trust.. and there is a chance, its not a first time such a thing happnes.. but somehitng tells me, its not the last one..
