Newbie's stupid question: How does life gain on each enemy hit work if using mines to cast attack?
Apology in advance for the newbie question.
I'm running a toxic rain blastchain mine build in ACT III. I was lucky enough to obtain a Tabula Rosa super early in the game. I put toxic rain, blastchain mine, swift assembly, trap and mine damage support, and vicious projectiles support on it, The leveling progress has been amazing. I have one socket left in the Tabula Rosa. I want to put life on hit support gem on it, but I'm not sure if this skill works with mines. I understand if it's the totem then totem will get the life back, not my character. But for mines, hits come after the mine's detonation, so mines won't be able to receive any life back. In this case, does the life recover back to my character? The tooltip of the toxic rain skill says "28 life gain for each enemy hit". Not sure if my character is receiving this bonus. ![]() Last edited by CozyGoose#7475 on Jul 10, 2021, 5:00:48 PM Last bumped on Jul 11, 2021, 2:40:13 AM

Unless you are using machina gloves any leech/loh goes to you mines who don't have health means, it's wasted. It's one of the weaknesses that miners have, they can't leech. Same is true for traps and totems btw.

Pretty much what Baharoth15 sais. As a further explanation: The 28 life on hit does apply, but not to you, to your mines. So the effect you are trying to achieve does not work with it. Pretty much all "on hit" effects work from the perspective of your mines and for them, not for you.

What Baharoth said. With the addiction that Leech in totem is not actually, completely wasted: Totem's leech is applied to the totem's life, if for some reason you actually care about your totem not being melted with a single hit and want to invest in totem life (and not resorting on a Decoy Totem, of course).
There do are, however, league-exclusive uniques and, most important, specific ascendancies that makes a little portion of totem's life leech apply to the player instead. Miners have Machina's Mitts, which should be easier to achieve with the new 3.14 drop tables. Trapper have nothing of the sort instead, and must resort to a Tinkerskin and just gain fixed life when their traps are triggered by an enemy (this would, however, make them self-sustained if coupled with a Slavedriver's Hand or old-fashioned Blood Magic) |
