Pride vs. Flesh and Stone + Maim?
Am I correct when I say Flesh and Stone + main gives 30% more phys damage plus around the same increased?
And am I correct when the maximum on Pride is 39% more phys and pride is not giving me 39% more it’s a debuff so enemy’s takes 39% more phys damage. What is best and is there a reason to run pride at all? Any tips and tricks to make it stronger, because at this mom I think the other setup is strongest? Thx Last bumped on Jun 30, 2021, 4:57:16 AM

Flesh and Stone + Maim causes enemies to take increased damage, not more. The "more" mod on the Maim gem doesn't apply to Flesh and Stone, as it doesn't actually deal damage. The aura only benefits from the increases.
Which one is better varies a lot by build. Gem for gem, Pride offers better damage, but at a higher reserve cost. And that's the only thing it does. F&S has lower reserve, can interact with some other "maimed" mechanics vs enemies, can switch stances for skills that use stances, or simply switching between defense/damage for different situations. The flexibility with mana reserve can have a big impact on what other stuff you can run, and more often than not I find myself using F&S because of that. A bit less so now since its reserve got increased from 25 to 35, but 35 is still easier with leaving room for other things than Pride's 50. I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German. It is also worth noting that Pride takes 4 seconds to build up to its full effect, whereas Flesh and Stone is instant as soon as an enemy is within range.
4 seconds is a long time in PoE, and you only get the full benefit of Pride after that. So when comparing Pride and Flesh and Stone, I would look more closely at the minimum value of Pride than its maximum value. Depending on how many different effects you stack that increase damage taken, Pride may still have a greater benefit for damage than Flesh and Stone + Maim Support. |

Another thing to consider in that regard is Pride's AoE is significantly larger than Flesh and Stone's, and particularly so at 20/20 and beyond. It's nearly large enough to reach screen edge without any investment at all beyond gem levels and quality, whereas Flesh and Stone's AoE remains quite small (since it doesn't gain radius with levels or AoE with quality). Most mobs are going to be taking 20% more damage almost as soon as you see them and ramping up from there, unless they're sitting in a corner ranging you.
So, skill choice and playstyle also have a big impact on which one is likely to be more useful where damage benefits are concerned. I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

Pride also is a separate more multiplier whereas F&S stack with all sources of the enemy taking increased damage. Maim can also be applied from multiple sources without resorting to reservation.
F&S + Maim = 30% increased physical damage taken. On its own it equates to 30% more damage, but I you add in Bottle Faith for example the enemy now takes 40% increased damage, dropping the aura's more multiplier to ~27.27%. |

Pride Watcher's Eye can be one of the major reason.
