Game keep launching in windowed

Hello guys !

I've seen old post from 2017 (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1771109/page/1) talking about it and that it should be corrected by a patch but it just happenned to me right now (from 2 days in a row now).

Everything was working fine before and I didn't change anything.
Even my production_Config is set like this :

fullscreen=true
borderless_windowed_fullscreen=false

I'm on windows 10 x64.

Any solutions ?

I'm playing at 4K in full screen with DX11 and I'm having the same issue, the game starts in/switch to Windowed mode instead of staying in fullscreen. The only solution I found is to set the command line "--require-launch" in the shortcut, then manually click "Launch" in the client window every time.

Same problem and same solution --require-launch.

Because without it the launcher starts as inactive window (I don't know why), and switches to windowed mode because of that (?), and if you wanted fullscreen you had to manage to click very fast this small launcher window before the game starts to make it active and run fullscreen.
So it is more convenient just to make a parameter --require-launch and start manually from the launcher as an active window.

P.S. Just in case: you know that you can fast switch fullscreen pressing Alt+Enter?

Sorry bumping this old thread.

Somehow I found a solution for this issue today when I looked at the installation folder after updating to today's update.

You need to create a shortcut of the PathOfExile.exe that's inside the installation folder, open the Properties of the shortcut (Right click on the shortcut) and change the "Run:" drop down menu from "Normal" to Maximized.

If you start the PathOfExile.exe directly, not a shortcut, the game goes in full screen without crapping out back to some weird resolution.


edit: nvm, it didn't survive a reboot/shutdown. Launching the game by directly clicking on the main executable still launch the game without issue, but launching the game from a shortcut randomly craps out to some custom resolution just like before.
