Resizable BAR Support and a Benchmark Option in POE2?

Sup people,

two things:

Resizable BAR support for the game doable? At the moment only a few new AAA games are supported and i dont know about the requirements of implementation.

As you can see, there is some nice free performance to be gained, and I was playing minions last league, dropping below <60 fps with a RTX 3080 and a 9900k 5 Ghz in a juiced Atoll map.

Second thing would be a built in benchmark sequence. Few games burn PCs like POE so it would be actually great to have a standard Benchmark for easy comparison of hardware performance.

If you want to take a shot at it - you can download NVIDIA's Inspector tool and follow this -

Extract the file and launch NVIDIA Inspector. Once that's done, pick the game you want to try Resizable BAR with and flip on the penultimate icon from the toolbar, the one that shows unknown settings from NVIDIA predefined profiles. You'll now see a massive amount of unknown flags at the bottom, but we've highlighted the ones you'll need to change. These are 0x000F00BA and 0x000F00BB and, a bit further down, 0x000F00FF. In the dropdown menu, just activate them by switching to the flag which mentions the officially supported titles, then apply the changes.

This forces the game to use resizeable bar. I found an article on it....the only reason I haven't done it is because on some games it can negatively impact performance and I'm not sure how to "undo" these changes if I did them.

I've been really tempted though as I have an ASUS 570 Board, 3900XT and a 3080 which supposedly people have tried and it provides an increase on various games, but no one has tried it on PoE as far as I can find.

If I understand this correctly, this is about increasing memory I/O for the GPU?

I've done some endgame in the past with GPU-Z on my second monitor and it never looked like PoE would even use the available bandwidth by more than 10%.
Perception is reality.
Thats correct but it still could result in better Performance, I have a z390 Board from Asus and theres still no rbar bios updates. When its out im gonna go test on post results, still problematic to bench the game consistently though
Allright, i upgraded to the new rbar bios today.

I did what trevxo said it was pretty easy

Since you cant really bench the game, the results are not to be taken seriously, but i tried 3 positions in hideout, menagerie and mine with and without rbar.

You have to open the screenshots in a new tab to read RTSS Graphs

Hideout

RBAR Hideout

Menagerie

RBAR Menagerie

Mine

RBAR Mine

I guess it's probably like 1-5% more performance on 2k resolution, the biggest jump was at menagerie, i didnt do like 20 tests to confirm everything.

Also it cant be tested in combat since its not replicateable, but apparently to some sources 1% low fps are getting better with RBAR enabled.

Anyways, it doesnt look like its affecting performance in a bad way so i'm gonna keep it enabled for now.
