Awakened gem drop rate from Sirus is abysmal

it seems that the awakened gem drop rate from Sirus with 'thaumaturgical awakening' passive is total bs? otherwise the drop rate is so horribly low that this node has almost no impact.

Must've ran him at least 50+ times in trade/ssf, most on A8. Got 1 awakened gem from him so far (and that was long before I had enough uncharted realms points to allocate that passive, so the 2 points were a total waste).

Got like 2 swords ffs but no gem, idk why the drop rate has to be so low even for low-tier gems? Imo A8/9 sirus should drop one gem every time, with the high tier ones being rare.

You do know how RNG works right? If all you got is 1 awakened gem in 50 Sirus then that's probably bad luck, or good luck considering you got 2 swords. I've been killing A8 Sirus like 2 times a week for about a year now and i haven't seen a single sword but i'd guess about a dozen gems. I mean the droprates for both are low that should be clear and knowing GGG you can kiss your idea of getting a gem drop every run goodbye, just isn't going to happen. Besides, what's the point? Most of them are kinda worthless anyways. Would only get worse with higher drop rates.

Well, the droprate IS low. Why do you think Awakened support gems are valuable? Power creep in POE has gotten to the point where almost everyone can easily kill A8 Sirus, so if the gems were easy to get even the desirable ones would be 50c or less.

Awakened gems can also drop from A8 Conquerors, by the way, so make sure your watchstones are always full!

As nvidia puts it just buy it (the gem you need) . Unless you're ssf in which case you should long for non-existance.

I was talking about obtaining them in ssf. On trade i'd never allocate those passives since the gems are pretty cheap except 2-3.

However on ssf there's no other way of acquiring those gems and the drop rate is just too shitty.

My main point was that the uncharted realm notable that increases awakened gem drop rate by 50% is kinda useless.

I'd also argue that 90% of the gems are not valuable at all on trade and they don't provide that much of a power boost so there's no real reason to make them drop so rarely. On the other hand, something like thread of hope is far more useful/powerful and that drops more frequently than the gems (at least for me).

You need A8. Also minor Elderslayer also drop the gem pretty often

If you play SSF, you bring this pain on yourself. In a game that's designed around scarcity and trading for what you need, SSF is a mode for masochists for a reason, and why I'd never play it (especially now that Harvest is dead).

Sounds odd. I think the rate is perhaps 20-30% at a9/a8 with the passive. I have done perhaps 10(?) Sirus this league and there has been 3 support gems, and it does not seem to differ from earlier leagues much.

Odds of getting just 1 sound ridiculously low with 50 kills.

Then again, I got my first exalted drop at level 92 ( and it was after my first awakener orb ).

its not really a huge bother since none of the gems are build enabling or anything, just my observation that the gems aren't dropping even with the uncharted realm notable (which is kind of an issue given how strong most of the other passives here are).

Imo that passive should give a flat 10% extra chance or something, similar to the one with elder dropping watcher's eye.

SSF is a bitch to get exact things from someone like sirus. I can't get awakener's orbs to even use harvest well but got 4 awakened gems. Considering it takes me about 4-6 hours per run it's basically I get one or two shot a week on weekends. Oh well it's been like that forever. Atziri gloves, when good and instant leech, barley dropped...like 5%...and uber atziri took way way way longer to get to than Sirus does, back in the day.


SSF is a bitch on 3 things actually...
-helmet enchants
-exact Watchers eyes
-rare drops from heavily gated bosses

Dont play SSF if can't handle never getting exact species you're after.
