Bad POE performance on Good PC

Does anyone know why i get bad FPS drops in poe?

I have a good pc with decent specs:

Intel Core i5-9400F (2.9GHz, 9MB Cache, 6x Cores, 4.1GHz Turbo)
16GB DDR4 2666Mhz High Performance Gaming RAM
GeForce RTX 2060 Super OC Edition. 8GB GDDR6 Card

The game runs at around 140 fps without v-sync, however i get nasty frame drops (down to about 45) whenever I open a lockbox or start a ritual. Sometimes i get fps drops just randomly while mapping. This happends with v-sync on and off.

Does anyone know why/how I can fix this issue?
Ive tested all the settings and get the same results on Low quality graphics.

This dude gets 45 frames. I am jealous.
I'm been getting terrible performance all league. Apparently, according to Chris, the new stream process loading is suppose to help lower end computers run better. I have not seen any post where the new process actually improved the performance, which makes me believe he lied again on why they changed it.

For me, I have a i7-4790k stock with 16GB RAM and GTX 970, built at the end of 2014. It's an aging system, but still okay for most applications. POE ran just fine for me before the changes, so that "lower end computer" reasoning doesn't apply to me. Maybe a 2010 computer and lower, but that population of players must be so low.

I just hate having to see the game lag every single map, loading in the same main skill, loading in the same hideout, loading in the same mobs and effects, loading in the same league mechanic, every time I go through a portal.

If it gets any worse, it's unplayable for me. It's very aggravating at the moment though.
Yeah, fuck me. Guess i will go play minecraft
I run an i5-8700 and a 1060. Never really had a problem. I'm sure I don't get 140, but I also don't get crazy spikes like that on any kind of regular basis.

EDIT: Went back to check carefully. Typical for me is 60-65. A bad spike will drop it to maybe 35, but I can't even tell that's happening unless I'm watching the numbers - which I never do because I'm never noticing a problem.

@OP: when you see your frames drop from 140 to 45, what actually happens to your play? 45 has always been more than ok for me.

There are clearly issues, given how many folks report them, but there are also many folks with no (or rare) problems playing.

As far as no reports of people with improvements from the new stream process, that's not too surprising. People don't usually take the time to report when their normal expectations are being met. Lack of reports is not really evidence that it's not happening.

I like turtles.
Head over to tech support... you might get some useful tips there.

You should have a fast SSD. Loading times sound like your problem.

I do have an SSD, so I will try that and check out the results. In terms of the fps drops, having 45 frames is not the problem, its the sudden spiked drop from 100+ to 45. This has unfortunately caused me many deaths since the game essentially freezes for 1-2 seconds.
I do have the same Drops from 100+ to 45 or less.
i7-10700KF
32GB RAM
NVIDIA RTX 3080

No issues last 2 Leagues. Its sad as fu...
