How far are we from the next AAA title?
This should give us a better estimate how long this game has to support it before we start supporting something else. If I don't see myself playing anything else for at least six months I continue to stick to the product I've been playing and supporting, which happened to be Path of Exile.
So, the question is do you see yourself playing a new product or even returning to an old title six months from now, and I'm not talking about playing that product for just few weeks/months, but for at least six months (through most of the duration). December is nine months from now and not six, so primarily I'm searching for a new release that will be available by this summer. I believe this is the best opportunity for many to showcase their product before hyped products arrive from popular franchises like Diablo 4, Diablo 2 remastered around Christmas this year. Ship of Heroes, New World, Ashes of Creation? I doubt Ship of Heroes will be available this summer. I'll do more research to see what options are there and then what I'm going to start spending $ on. I just WANT TO SPEND MONEY, that's the bottom line. The problem is that 3.13 has kept my interest for around 25% of the duration of the league, and that's simply not acceptable for me. I cannot see Path of Exile as my primary game anymore, and sure I can hope 3.14 changes that like I hoped 3.13 will, but if I am not playing I will be looking. World of Warcraft is also not the game for me, that's the short story. I never played Shadowlands even though it was completely free for me. One thing that worked for me in the past is in my ability to enjoy other genres, which helps me to have more options. Being stuck within one or two genres like the ARPG/MMORPG is just bad in the current state of the industry. Last bumped on Mar 19, 2021, 11:35:21 PM

thats hard to say and depends on your preferences.
D4 could be the D3 people hoped for or be a D3 2.0 only hardcore fans would want. Ship of heroes? doesnt look like it (as of today) ashes of creation looks like a generic korean cashgrab, no high hopes for that new world could be a candidate since the funding and with it the development could be near limitless My time spend in PoE shrinks with every league, a new mechanic is nice, but its not like they reinvent the wheel each time...a new mechanic (if it works and is actually fun) can only get you so far. leveling a new char is simply tedious and especially for casuals a lame way to spend their limited time. I'd say, without the bots and streamers, PoE would feel like playing on the last day of the league for every day of the league. GGG really need to shine with PoE 2.0 or its gonna be bad. Only the future can tell what will happen and we have to wait until the future becomes the present. |

" Imagine my buyers remorse when I started playing again few months before Shadowlands and realized that WoW by now just became a shitty game. Then imagine realizing after 3 months that you forgot to cancel your subscriptions + you can't refund the preorder :D Generally I'm switching pretty fast usually. Currently I'm still sticking to PoE just because I've got no money to buy new games due to debts and other circumstances. When the new patch comes out for Cyberpunk, I'm gonna play and actually finish that one. The next AAA title? Hopefully VtM:Bloodlines 2 will be AAA++, a lot of fans hope so. I believe the next AAA title will come out as soon as we see a single supporter badge next to OP.
AKA never :( |

That AAA game should have been Cyberpunk 2077. But in the end it was buggy as hell and nothing special at all. You always see me rolling my eyes when someone mentions the next AAA-game.
Well to be fair, it will probably be Baldur's Gate 3 but I won't buy it as my Belgian overlords decided to use a turn-based system instead of the classical 'real-time with pause' which the series became known for. When will it be released? Perhaps at the end of this year but probably in 2022. Heart of Purity

Well, Age of Empires 4 might be coming out later this year, or early next year.
