ARPG is on the rise
Hello people.
I find myself overwhelmed with future Arpg coming out soon. POE2 looks like my new crack in the near future Wolcen is getting improvements just release first season Magic legends… I love magic the gathering so a arpg based on the card game is enticing. Torchlight 3 which I barley played Oh don’t forget Diablo4 and Last Epoch has lot of potential Anyone else wonders how the hell am I suppose to play all these games when my main addiction is POE… Not to mention my steam account is full of all types of games I never play lol too busy with POE and LE. Anyone else suffers from this? So many games but you always play Arpgs. And what new Arpg you most excited for? Seriously tho used to be 1 Arpg every few years seems like there is new one in the work every year now Last bumped on Feb 19, 2021, 7:25:14 PM

I am early access supporters of last Epoch, Wolcen, Grim Dawn.
The funny thing is, I suppose last Epoch & Wolcen is becuase of my disappointment in Diablo 3 & *wait for it* PoE. I still play Diablo 3 & PoE on & off, for differment reason. Diablo 3 for all its flaw & "simplicity" is a very solide MP experience that no other ARPG market even come close. Playing in group at higher tier with an optimised build that compliment your teammates are fun. Everyone has roles (support, boss killer, trash killer, healer) & do your part. Butthe game lack character customiszation which well PoE offer, but PoE MP is well...shiit. There is also other very frastating thinsg about PoE, like lack of depth, & BS one shot etc I wasn hoping Wolcen & last epoc will finally be games that are tre successor to D2. I have not much hope for Wolcen, but Last epoch looks good so far. obvoiously there is Diablo 4 which many hope is the Ga,e that finally the arpg that we all wanted, ast least me, since D2. Not forgetting PoE2, but from what I seen, its basically PoE with a fresh paint & some QoL. But its better than nothing I guess. Yes, it seems we will have some nice ARPG to play soon, other than PoE. Not forgettiing possible D2 remaster. Last edited by kiadaw#3194 on Feb 18, 2021, 5:39:02 AM

PoE2 and D4 still years away.
In addition if PoE doesnt fix its performance issues, screen clutter, content bloat, among other things, by the time D4 does come out, much of community will be primed and ready to jump. If GGG was scared about the Cyberpunk release and its impact, they have to be shitting their pants at D4, a direct genre competitor. LE, Wolcen, GD, TL3, are all ok games, but imo, a tier below D3 and PoE. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

" The other studio barred Blizzard, are MUCH smaller than PoE. Last I checked, PoE has 150 Employees. Grim Dawn has like 15 or so. The others have 30+ or less. Also, I think, comparing quality/quantity of contents, Grim Dawn put many studios to shame. The OG map was already massive, but with the 2 main expansions, they manage to make the world much much bigger, while also adding new classes & gears/gears mods. Funny in the old days, when game release contents, you expect massive new areas plus all the rework & added stuff. Think D2 LoD. Good that Grim Dawn follow the tradition, Unfortunately, the work on the GD is done & their next project is not my type. Now you 50 new crafts & 20 ways & new loots (like awakened support gems) to make characters OP, add 1-2 house size areas like the forbidden Trove (often filled with recycled asserts), another boss to chase, & people cleaned at the "content". If LE becomes a moderate success, & able to hire new talent & keep their head ground like now, I wouldn't be surprised it will be a serious competition to PoE & D4 even. What make LE good, is it has depth without the complexity (initially) of entry like PoE. The skill trees are massive but easy to understand. You love blazing strike (or whatever the name), every node related to the skill is in the tree for the skill. Also, it allows more variations of the skill than the support gem design. The passive tree also well organised. Want more fire damage, just put more points into the fire damage node. No need to go all over the tree to look for fire damage nodes. I feel this is a better design. End result is similar, but minus the chore & add complexity (for beginners) You do not have to use word search in the passive tree to look for nodes that benefit a skill like PoE, & plan routes to teh nodes like a road trip. |

Last Epoch actually offers an enjoyable leveling experience because of the way skills can be developed. All you do in PoE is link a skill to 5 supports which help it deal more damage.

Well, there are some delights regarding certain titles.
Diablo 4 is very likely going to be good in many ways, since it is Blizzard. But it is not something I personally gonna delve too much into. Torchlight is out of the Question. Wolcen is no thanks. Path of Exile 2 is something I truly do hope they are getting right. Last Epoch is INDEED something I believe can blow your mind away. It is still a game in Early Access and far from truly finished, there are many stages left, but it has already SO many right things in it, that makes me have high hopes for it. |

" I get what you mean. Most of these support gems are stat sticks. I am playing a minion build & have 5 support gems to support my zombies. They do more damage, attack faster, more time, swap some other gems, & you wouldn't feel the difference in gameplay. There are things like speel cascade & GMP that change the way a skill functions, but 90% of support gems are stat multipliers with some gimmick like reduce mob phy resist. In Last epoch the same skill can be drastically different base on how you spec the tree. Last edited by KiadawP#5072 on Feb 19, 2021, 6:02:41 PM

We are still in golden age of arpg games. It all started with torchlight 2, poe, d3 and grim dawn several years ago. And now it is still ongoing with good big and smaller arpgs coming out very often.
