Please Add a "Force Move" Keybind

This has been mentioned before, with posts asking as far back as 2012 for this feature, always with huge player support for the concept.

Please add a "Force Move" keybind into controls. It makes a huge difference for some people to get to change what key they use to move their character.
I know there is the work-around of putting 'move' onto a skill slot on your action bar, but sacrificing one of your limited skill slots to be able to force move is using a limited resource that is meant for skills and abilities, not a quality of life thing like force move. Having to sacrifice a skill slot to be able to move without attacking, or even just to change the default movement key at all, seems much more like a workaround, band-aid, type of fix, rather than addressing the issue of letting players customize their inputs to match their preference.

Players have been expressing a large desire for this kind of quality of life change for years actually. For a lot of people it gets close to make or breaking their comfort in playing the game, as being forced to move with left mouse, and having to use a skill slot to avoid the awkward combination of movement and attack that is there by default, both severely reduce the connection many players can feel with this game. And the simple solution is a single keybind "Force Move", which simply controls where your character runs, and is able to be bound to any button press.

I hope this simple quality of life fix can be made, so that people with inclinations like myself can fully enjoy this game.

What? Just bind "Move Only" to your mouse LMAO
Many people, including myself, prefer to move in ARPGs with a keybind, rather than a mouse click. It's personal preference and other people certainly prefer mouse clicks, but personally, and others have expressed the same thing, moving with a keybind is their personal preference. That's why simply binding "Move Only" to your mouse doesn't solve the issue, as I'd prefer a "Move Only" on a keybind, that also does not use one of the skill slots. Hence the need for a dedicated "Move Only" or "Force Move" keybind, rather than simply assigning it to a slot on the ui, mouse or otherwise.
I'll also note that this is not a radical suggestion with no precedent, but rather a feature that is present in many, if not most, other popular isometric ARPGs. I am by no means saying that just because a feature is present in 1 game it must be present in Path of Exile, I am just mentioning it to clarify that it is not something that only I want, or a small section of the player base wants, but rather it is something that many people rely on in playing this genre. Other people don't use it at all and that's totally fine, but for me and others it's a fundamental quality of life feature for how we control our characters, and not having it inhibits our enjoyment of the game.

That's why I'm asking for it to be added.

select the "move only" skill,
use the bound key to "force move".

the feature exists. but in poe, all comes with a price attached.

Sometimes I wish I could be as confident when I am right as these people are when they are wrong. The feature you are asking for obviously already exists, as other have pointed out, and is not a "workaround" in any shape or form. What you are asking for, on the other hand, is, in fact, a (pointless) workaround.
There is a difference between a "Move To" and "Move" key.

I would like this as well, currently you walk all the way to your cursors location.

What we want is to simply move when the button is pressed and stop when it isnt pressed. Not move the a location

I bind move to my spacebar.

Now this is a much more interesting suggestion than whatever OP was saying. Maybe he wanted to say this, but lacks the proper ommunication skills to do so? Maybe not. Probably not.

I did actually mention that I know that option exists. I'm just suggesting separating something that in my opinion is a quality of life function of the game, and should have it's own keybind, rather than being lumped in with a skill.

It's clearly not "pointless" as it lets you bind "Move To" without wasting a skill slot, which in my opinion makes more sense. It's not "wrong" to prefer something a different way.

No, I am not saying a move vs. move to option, I think that is easy to see.

Perhaps you prefer the way the developers have implemented it over what other games have done and what I suggested, that's fine, I'm just suggesting the functionality I think makes the most sense.
