Level of Socketed Gems
There are many combinations of affixes for + level of socketed gems that can be *combined on 1 item*. For example:
+1 All, +1 Int and +2 all support (last one being the catarina craft) is possible. I was (unpleasantly) surprised that the +2 to *support gems* (craft) doesnt work with +2 to socketed *bow* gems. I'm hoping this is just a minor oversight as I cant see the difference between int/str/dex (which work with +2 support) and bow (which doesnt). Indeed, one might reason that the bow is more specific than Int/str gems. Thanks for the awesome game, T. Last bumped on Jan 27, 2021, 2:18:52 PM

" I learned this a while ago, then started to use craftofexile.com which lets you see all the different 'mod groups' assigned to each mod. The +2 bow gems and +1 or +2 support gems do share the same mod group. I assume this is because one could make a +4 bow or +4 staff. So you if you get +2 bow gems roll your only option is to also exalt slam +1 support gems. If you get +1 socketed gems roll then you're free to craft +2 support gems. Either will net you a +3 bow but I believe the latter is preferred as you'd have a high lvl main skill + extra levels on your 5 other supports. Definitely check out CoE website for future crafting. |

Thanks for the reply.
I use craftofexile quite a bit, but didn't realize there was additional complexity around mod groups. I can see what you mean about +4 etc. but on the other hand, it seems strange given the str/int. Hey ho! Unfortunately already rolled the +2 bow mod. Thanks again! |
