why do some rare items with 5 mods have "no room" for crafting?
It's my understanding that rare items can have up to 6 explicit mods (3 prefixes, 3 suffixes) and that implicit mods don't count towards the limit. So why do some rare items with 5 mods have "no room" for crafting? I see this once in a while.
For example, I have a profane wand with a 14% implicit cast speed and the following mods: Prefixes: 1 spell damage, 2 cold damage, 3 additional mana Suffixes: 1 cast speed, 2 mana on kill. So 5 explicit mods, but at the crafting bench, I see the message "Item has no space for more Mods" What am I missing here? Thanks! " properly a hybrid mod but you will have to link the item for sure.... |

in this case, you have your mods completely wrong:
Prefix spell damage and cold damage are exclusive, you cannot have both. So what you have is more likely: PRE: Spell damage, spell damage/mana hybrid, mana SUF: Cast Speed, mana on kill, cold damage Even linking the item wont tell us exactly what is what. You need to go into your game options, UI, and turn on 'advanced item descriptions' checkbox. Once that is on, when you mouse over an item, hold the ALT key. this will expand your items and show exactly what prefixes and suffixes an item has, AND how high tier they are. it's very helpful for crafting. |
