Best way to get 100% impale? I have too much..
I realized I have over 120% impale, so I actually need to drop some. I have:
40% Impale Support 20% Master of Steel 20% Forceful skewing node (and sub node) 20% Swift Skewering node (and sub node) 20% Dread Banner 120% total So, what should I ditch? Or are they all useful as they also increase the effect of impale? Thanks Last bumped on Oct 1, 2020, 12:41:35 AM

Mind linking me the build thread you're following? 4.5k life w/ Abyssus is just... ouch.

As far as im awair their isn't a limit on how many impales can be applied per hit. Thus you hace a 20% chance to apply a second impale

got 161% xD why should you drop it tbh? check pob if u should?
"Now all that's left is for you getting on your knees."
if you know thank me:) i'm dying to find out x'D |

" Unless they recently patched it to make such a dramatic change, anything over 100% chance to impale is wasted - 100% = guaranteed impale vs 90% = 10% chance not to impale. Yep, totally over league play.

Drop one of the 3 node clusters. Only drop the Banner IF you can fit another mana reserve skill into your build with the freed up 10%.

" That is wrong. You can never exceed 100%. Although there isn’t a limit for how many impales a target can have on them, you are limited based on how many hits impales last. Impales by default last 5 hits, so you will never apply more than 5 on the target at once. |

" My build is based on this, but i didn't follow it precisely. I've been looking at top builds on POE ninja and seeing what everyone has in common. I also don't have any good cluster jewels yet. http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2775438 Also realize that I'm poor, so far I'm up to T13 maps, so I'm getting there, but slowly. No lucky drops yet. |

" Goin on semantics, you can definitely exceed 100% chance. Generally speaking in PoE when chance is involved going beyond 100% chance is a waste. Because of "PoE math" you have to be mindful of the interpretation. It's like more vs increased - they technically should mean the same thing but in PoE are used to differentiate between additive or multiplicative damage. I know on at least one of my 3.10 cycloners that I was over the 100% chance, but given the tree at the time it was either go under at 95 or so go slightly over and have some go to waste - guaranteeing the impale meant it was worth more (at least to me) to ensure the impale versus missing the stack a measly 5% of the time. Yep, totally over league play.

Yes, you “can” go over, but anything over 100% serves no purpose. The only thing it will do is serve as a reserve in case you get %# reduced chance, and I don’t know of a single source of reduced chance to impale.
