Default currency PoE shows coin packs prices in is USD. Then, depending on my payment method chosen, it changes to default currency of the payment method with a (huge) markup taken by GGG masked as "exchange rate", which doesn't have anything to do with actual exchange rate. It is about 7-8% of the transaction, compared to actual exchange rate between currencies.
So, wanting to avoid the pricey "service" of accepting different currency by GGG, I want to pay in their native currency, USD. So what do I do? I use one of multicurrency services, Revolut in my case. What does GGG do? It defaults to random currency (GBP, I guess related to Revolut being UK company) and still takes the markup for "exchange service". There is absolutely no way to pick currency I actually want to pay with.
None of the above has anything to do with my tax residency, vat calculations, etc, seeing as this all changes depending on the service I use. Different for credit cards, different for other services, it all seems very random.
So now the question. How the hell do I pay in USD?

As far as I know you can't (I haven't found a way) because then Xsolla (not GGG but still Tencent owned) can't do the huge markup......
It's "almost" the same when you go to another contry and try to use your mastercard, it will then default to your local currency and you have to force the terminal to pay in the correct currency. However here you have a choice....

Thanks, man. This is not what I hoped for, but I guess this is the kind of stuff you have to deal with with all the chinese-owned businesses..

Email support directly about this. They should have additional methods for purchasing they can provide you with.

really, you can override the shop options ??
Because this was not a problem before Xsolla took over the payment processing. Back then I was charged i US$ via the credit card so I got the bank rate.

All I know is they accept payment plans, and those plans are not available via the store. I haven’t the faintest clue how they go about collecting money, but if you are willing to pay in USD then I see no reason why they wouldn’t accept it even if that isn’t your country’s native currency. In any case emailing support is always your only option if you are unwilling to use the provided options.

but you must admit that it's "bad" that you no longer can pay in $US via the shop and are forced to do currency exchange via Xsolla.....
