[3.13] VOLATILE / DETONATE DEAD HIEROPHANT Build. 10000+ ES, Not-a-Harold. + VIDEO GUIDE!

Few years ago there was a powerful build used on Hardcore: a Poet’s Pen Volatile Dead Hierophant. Tanky dude with massive spell leech, 8k life and a lot of endurance charges..I memorized the build and wanted to try and recreate it with the Spellslinger support, as VD is surprisingly popular once again.
Another reason for this build is that i ALMOST created a VD Inquisitor build back in the day, but could not defeat Uber Elder and after several nerfs to Volatile Dead i gave up and ended up with a lot of “dead” footage. Not that i wanted to reuse it, but i wanted to bring back the whole idea of using Volatile Dead and Templar as well.
On top of Volatile Dead, there is a DETONATE DEAD as well, which does 50% more damage than VD and really really help melting massive packs and bosses as well.
The result was actually great and even though it was not AS TANKY as before, because of the nerfed Warlord’s Mark and leech in general, it still works and I finished all content including Sirus 8.

In previous patch they nerfed Spellslinger, so mana is overreserved now. I am thinking about the solution. Currently there's a couple: casting desecrate manually and removing Spell Cascade from a 6L

How does it work, in general?
Spellslinger support triggers all supported skills when you ATTACK A PROJECTILE from a WAND. Not many good projectile wand attacks out there, with Frenzy being one of the best. In order to trigger skills, Spellslinger support reserves the amount of mana used by the skills attached, multiplied by the other supports.
Spellslinger is attached to both Desecrate and Volatile Dead / Detonate Dead here, so when you fire Frenzy, spellslinger triggers both 3 skills at a time, creating corpses and spawning Volatiles / exploding DD.
Frenzy also gathers Inspiration charges for VD/DD.

5) My Actual Gear / End-Game Skills

Overall a standard low-life build with Shavronne’s Wrappings. You might be playing a life/hybrid of CI till you get Shav’s AND Prism Guardian.
Death’s Door boots are fantastic option for this build with only 1 problem = duration of ailments. And this is longer FREEZES too, which can lead to way more deaths. This is why it’s only starter boots. Cannot be Frozen with + Endurance Charge is BEST POSSIBLE OUTCOME.
Memory Vault is also a fantastic helmet which can give you a tonn of Armour as well. Highly recommended until you will be flexible enough to spend currency on high DPS Crown of the Inward Eye.
For Uber Lab enchant:
Skills Supported by Spellslinger have 30% increased Cooldown Recovery Speed (makes triggering really smooth) / Volatile Dead 40% Damage / Volatile Dead Consumes 1 Additional Corpse
Volatile Dead/Detonate Dead 5L: VD-DD-Spellslinger-Spell.Cascade-Inspiration
Volatile Dead/Detonate Dead 6L: VD-DD-Spellslinger-Spell.Cascade-Inspiration-Combustion
Replace normal gems with awakened versions if you have the currency.
Keep in mind GEMS ARE BALANCED HERE for Spellslinger support, because it reserves the mana cost. If, for example you will use Energy Leech instead of Combustion, you will have no mana left to cast anything :)
JEWELS: Fire Damage to Spells, Global Crit Multi, Energy Shield, Fire Damage to Spells while holding a Shield. 1 Corrupted Blood for Sirus fight.

Watcher’s Eye: Anger / Zealotry / Clarity.

FAQ
1) Why not Necromancer?

Seriously, as i described above, i had a build in mind and i wanted to create Templar for a reason.

2) What’s the difference with a Necromancer?

With Necro you will have around 10-15% more damage and 15% less ES. You also need to invest into block. Necro is also way faster because of attack speed buffs.

3) How expensive is that?

Rings are 5-10 ex each. Watcher’s eye.. Depends… 10-40 ex. Crown with the Spellslinger enchant was insanely overpriced in Delirium (20 ex).

Hello, I hope someone will be able to help me, I tried and made this build but unfortunately, I'm stuck and I don't know how to do with the reserved mana.
All in all I can't cast every aura because I end up with too much reserved mana...
I read the informations about the skill levels for spellslinger but it doesn't seem to reserve less when I put desecrate level 1 than it does for a level 20 one, even with a conqueror's efficiency slotted I don't have enough mana to cast both spellslingers :(

I took the reduced reserved mana nodes and everything...

Any tips please?

yeah we identified the problme today! In the recent patch they increased Spellslinger reservation, so now we have to deal with manual desecrate or put it into trigger

The cooldown thing is really smooth though, hard to drop it

Yeah, what I did for now is I dropped the LL and took more mana reservation, i'll have to think about it further but it was the easiest way to get it working properly, though losing quite a bit of damages.

So...am I just dumb? Or missing something? You can't possibly get all 4 of the Ascendancy nodes listed...that'd need 10 points...
