support gem: curse to aura

This one is an old idea, and yes I played Paladin in D2 :)
A support gem that changes a curse to work as an aura.

Ideally, it would have to be implemented in such way that curses from other sources would take priority as in standard targetted curses would override support gem'd aura curses.
Maximum allowed number of curses for that player still have a meaning.
i.e. with only 1 curse allowed (default), turning on a 2nd aura curse would then disable the other aura curse.
The idea is mostly about helping melee, especially solo players here, so that they can get faster into fights.

Please ignore if this has been suggested before.

So what this basically does is let a character pay a reserved mana value in order to not have to curse manually? That's interesting. How would "of warding" flasks work with it?

Since 'Of Warding' applies to the player character is has no effect on the aura curse (debuffing mobs).
Now that you mention it one would have to consider Inner Force for this .. it definitely should not work either, since it only applies to buffs that affect the player (and not a curse aura).

Same as for targetted standard curses?
Immunity for the flask effect duration. Curse effect is suppressed.

Was just thinking about curse reflection now (like from that unique shield) and how that could work on the reflected curse duration.
IMHO it should be handled as if the curse is a non aura curse.

If it's technically doable (and desireable for the devs and the players) I can't see why aura curses would work differently then standard curses.
Obviously the support gem Increased Duration won't have an effect here.
