[3.10] All U Need is One Good SWEEP | Big Sweep + Shockwave JUGG | Huge Clear | 2-3M Shaper DPS

Hello and welcome to this Sweep Jugg build. The goal here is to make Sweep as BIG and HARD as possible while being tanky enough to handle most contents. Jugg seems to be the right choice on both fronts. To maximize DPS we convert ALL physical damage to fire and use Heralds of Ash to explode the whole screen.

Couldn't leech in this map but still managed to clear it.

Build Mechanics --- Please Read First
Spoiler

1. First of all, Why Sweep?

Sweep is often compared to cyclone and usually not as good because it is not as smooth. However, the AOE of Sweep is huge if you build it right, and it almost feels like a ranged character. The low attack speed is not a problem if we use Shock Wave support which has a CD 0.72s anyways. So we hit slow but hard.

2. Why fire?

Because fire penetration is the easiest to get on tree/gems, and we use herald of ash to boost damage and make the whole screen explode.

3. How to get big AOE?

We use two-handed staves which has good AOE nodes on the tree. Unyielding gives another 36-42% increased AOE. Then Pulverize support. Then 15% MORE AOE from Blood and Sand. Helmet enchant can give another 24% and it is not expensive on Abyssus. I got mine for 1 ex.

4. Why Jugg?

Tanky, no need to worry about accuracy, huge AOE.

POB
Spoiler

Currently at level 91.

We use thread of Hope medium size jewel to allocates Divine Wrath+Judgement+Furry + Smashing Strikes. More on this in Gearing section.

Pros & Cons
Spoiler

- 6.5-7K life, almost maxed out physical reduction.
- 77/76/76 Fire/Cold/Lightninh res + Fortify
- Not too expensive to get started. Will do fine on a 5-link.
- HUGE AOE
- Can do all map mods except for Ele reflect maps.

- Sweep can take a bit to get used to.
- Weak outside of Endurance charges
- Somewhat expensive to min-max
- Don't have super high single target DPS and it is bit situational. You need
to get hit to apply fire exposure+covered in ash, which is quite often.
- Life/Mana leech can be hard/inefficient to get

Core Uniques
Spoiler

Armor:

Kaom's Heart: one word, life.

Weapons:

Hegemony's Era: Farily cheap and every mod on it is good for this build.

Helmet:

Abyssus: if a Jugg crit melee build isn't using Abyssus, something is terribly wrong.

Watcher's' eye jewel:

Converts physical damage to fire while affected by Anger is what you looking for. This plus the gloves prefix plus Avatar of fire converts all physical damage to fire.

Thread of Hope

Must be Medium. Put in right above Devotion. Then allocates Divine Wrath+Judgement+Furry + Smashing Strikes. See POB as an example.

Amulet

Xoph's blood: BiS, every mod is good for this build. Need almost a mirror-tier rare Amulet to beat it.

Ring

The synthesis ring is a huge boost to DPS. One damage mod is fine and cheap. For the other rare ring you want to get Warlord's mark on hit, or you will have to grab "Life and Mana Leech" on the tree which is pretty far away.

Flasks:

Personal Choice really. I like having more defense on the flasks so I used Basalts.

Gloves, belts, boots:

Life, resist, attributes. Shouldn't be too bad to fill these out.

Note: Gloves need to have an open prefix to craft 20-25% physical damage converted to Fire damage

1. Sand dance for mapping, blood dance for bossing.

Thank you for the guide. I'm going to say to hell with the other two squishy builds I've been playing and go back to the good old melee builds I've missed. What am I saying.. I die a lot no matter the build I'm playing. Hah. Hopefully I get enough currency to get the core uniques.

Thank you for the build guide I am really enjoying it! I bought all the gear Friday and got up to level 86 in the early hours of Sunday morning. Sweeping things is a total blast! My single complaint is definitely the single target. It's not BAD, but it isn't great either. I'm considering a few fixes for this. If I come up with anything I'll be sure to reply again.

Yeah the single target isn't great because we don't optimize attack speed which is a key parameter for high DPS. We are also quite reliant on flasks which will be down in longer boss fights. That said I did manage to get A7 Sirus to the last phase w/o much problem, and then everything turns to shit cuz it is hard for melee to get DPS in during the last phase.

Haha well this league makes every build feels squishy:)
Did your "Medium" Thread of Hope drop, did you use a Divine orb to change its size or did you buy it? It's been really frustrating finding one in trade. A few pop up around the same time for 5-9 chaos but no response or they're suddenly offline. The other day a ton showed up and they were going for 1 ex. Medium size must be the right fit for most players. If only my wife felt the same way. Hah. I'm not married. Anyway, I'm loving this build. Thanks again!

Just bought a "Small" one and used a Divine Orb and got MEDIUM! Woo! I love you.

Hah, now your (imaginary) wife is happy and satisfied, with 1 divine. You're welcome glad you like it.
Yeah! I'm loving it. I dislike most skills in this game, unfortunately. All I need is a Silver Oil to anoint the amulet and gear with higher res to counter the -res from Thread of Hope. Then I'll be all set. Looking forward to your future builds. ;)
Tried this build. So much fun clearing maps, I'm level 83 now. Thanks for this build!
