Profane Proxy Ring + Hex Master/Whispers of Doom

I wasn't able to find any info online so I made this post.

Does anyone know if nodes like Hex Master and/or Whispers of Doom affect curses equipped on skitterbots using Profane Proxy item?

Skitterbots are minions so hex master wont do anything. It would have to explicitly state that minions get the effect for the tree or your equipment to affect them.

Whispers of doom would allow YOU to apply a second curse to monsters. What I am not sure about is if the skitterbots aura would keep applying the curse, and since they can only apply one, override the double cursed back to one.

The duration on Hex Master would likely be superfluous, since the Skitterbots just apply it constantly, much like Blasphemy. The AoE bonus likely won't work, as that applies to 'curse skills', which Skitterbots aren't. Also, minions don't typically benefit from your bonuses.

Whispers of Doom would let you apply an extra curse on monsters over the one your Skitterbots have applied. Doesn't seem like a good idea to use two of that ring, but I suppose if you did do that then it might let them apply both curses as well, but again not sure on that (it's likely a bad idea anyway).

Going to look into this today, as I have been gifted a proxy ring since my mate doesn't like the league anymore. I have 4 curses total to work with (ascendancy, gloves, and doom) and the only other thing I'm running is malevolence.

Did we ever figure out if this works in conjunction with player curses? Personally I'll probably only be running one curse with them, but I'm curious if the area effect nodes affect this.
