Suggestion: 4.0 Support gems added to socket tab?

Ok, hear me out.

So, the socket tab has all links available on gear, but what about hot swapping support gems? Would it be possible for the UI to include support gems in the sockets tab rather than dragging support gems from inventory? Could there be a place holder in the inventory of inventory space is a concern?

Or, can there be an allocation option for the support get to always insert into the same gem socket. Let’s say I want a slower projectiles and trap damage support gem to occupy the same socket, where one would used for bosses and the other used for mapping. For example, pressing ‘ right trigger + a’ on a gem would socket into its allocated socket.
