crafting staff: +socketed gems, lv1 fortify, strength

For the Fortify route which gives 20% More Damage, you need to do the following:

1) Buy an Elder 2h Mace or Sword.

2) Scour it

3) Orb of Transumation to make it a magic item.

4) Use orbs of Alternations until you land either:
+1 to Level of Socketed Gems; OR
Socketed gems are supported by Level 1 Fortify

5) Use an Orb of Augmentation to try add the other mods you need.

6) Use a Regal Orb to try add the other mods you need.

7) If you don't get +1 Socketed Gems AND fortify, scour the weaopon and go back to 1).

8) If you have _1 Socketed Gems AND either fortify or onslaught, congrats!

9) You are now at Step 3 in the Staff example above.. progress from there.

i believe that chaos spamming has a good chance to give you both mods for under 200c. but the Tiers for the other mods might be trash.
buts thats crafting.
if you want to have the max,it will cost you the max
both time and money

Yeah, maybe I am not ready to commit fully into crafting. I start to realize how expensive it would be (time & currency)

There are new mods available, Is +1 skill really that useful for your build?

Honestly, I am just following Brunowa's KING OF ALL SUMMONERS Build (http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2642810). And there he displays such a mace as absolute ideal weapon. However, maybe I should stay with the Femurs and sell the mace again. It seems like I do not have the resources for the whole crafting process. Realized the "prefixes does not change" mod costs 2ex for instance.

Anyways, I tried the web app.
There it says that I would need only 26 tries in average by using alts & augments? Can that be reasonable?

Simulation result at the bottom shows "longest streak 168"? How is one supposed to read the analytics? Is there any guide?
