Is "Exiled Bot" legal?
Just as the title says is the app named "Exiled Bot" legal?
(talking about bots, are trade bots legal? cause i see them all the time and it's very tempting for time management..) Last edited by boostmepoe#5005 on Mar 2, 2020, 3:24:02 AM Last bumped on Jan 28, 2020, 7:50:36 AM

You may not automate. Many of the "trade macros" are just ways of issuing common phrases with a single click rather than having to type them out. That's okay. But the ones that automatically open trade windows and complete trades without input are against the terms of service. It would be nice if there was a way to enforce this rule, but it's pretty much a paper tiger. Ban a bot and it comes up again with a new account... probably automatically.
Smooth way to advertise the bot, by the way. GGG will likely edit out the reference. Last edited by Shagsbeard#3964 on Jan 25, 2020, 1:57:16 PM

Bots are not allowed, but its literally impossible to get rid of all bots. You get rid of one, two new ones appear.

" Yes. Grinding Gear Games do not have the authority to write laws, and so to run this program is not illegal. You will not go to jail if you run this program on your computer. They do not, however, allow the program and so if they catch you using it, they are likely to ban your account. " Er. No. You don't get banned for using a web browser. If what you said was true, we'd all get banned for having google'd the name of the program to check whether it was an actual bot (not allowed) or just a stupid name (e.g. Lutbot). Spoiler: this isn't going to happen. Bot detection does not rely on web browser data. As an aside, this is not the first post of yours which demonstrates a certain fascination (or obsession?) with the nationality of GGG's shareholders, and it is difficult to avoid the conclusion that the posts are fundamentally racist. Tencent owning shares in GGG does not affect the likelihood of the company choosing to harvest client-side data. The 'Chinese bad' rhetoric is childish. Grow up. "VPs are not required to change their posting style. They are still welcome to express their opinions and take part in any discussions they wish. Their only responsibility is to continue doing what they have always done - posting in a friendly and constructive manner." -GGG, 2015 Last edited by Sarno#0493 on Jan 26, 2020, 5:51:59 AM

" To note that Chinese spy alot on western tech is an observation. Theres nothing racist about it and saying so is sticking your head in the sand in the name of pc'ness. Is there a lot of evidence poe users are being spied on? not really. Before you start accusing people of racism you should watch some videos on why people are drawn to conspiracy theories. |

" Chinese isn't a race. It's not racist to point out the Chinese are and have been responsible for very nasty gaming practices since the dawn of gaming. They've always had heavy botting farms for early MMOs like WoW and Runescape, everyone hates them in popular games that aren't region locked because they rampantly cheat, and I won't even mention what they do to mobile apps. also have to admit I've never read such a condescending post from a "valued poster" in my life Last edited by Imaginaerum#5568 on Jan 26, 2020, 2:10:50 PM

Maybe it’s just me, but all this talking about China seems to be treading a very thin line with the ban on anything political on these forums. It doesn’t matter what your think or believe, the Code of Conduct views politics as inflammatory, and I wouldn’t be surprised if a mod comes in and gives a warning; if the warning isn’t heeded, then the thread gets locked.
I’ve not used Exiled Bot, but if even 1 part of what the website alludes to is true, it is bottling, automation, grounds for an immediate ban without warning. They can detect it and will ban for it. It doesn’t stop bot farmers from creating 1000 new accounts a day, but it will put your account at serious risk of being banned. |
