Custom loot filter

Hey dudes,

I'm keen to get my loot filter ready to go for launch on Monday and I've been looking at the item filter section in my account, went to neversink and created an item filter. Saved it, loaded it, downloaded it and uploaded it. It didn't appear on my account even though I authorised NS site and it says my PoE account is linked (Sony).

Long story short, anyone figured out how to get it onto your account without typing every single item? I really hope this isn't a case of "go on your PC and...." Because I doubt any of us would be playing console if we had PCs we could be playing on.

Thanks in advance!

Go on your pc and do it just like every other POB tool. They rarely let console do or utilize anything and believe console gamers have a pc sitting around just to support their console game lol.

Only a few months ago was this shit website even barely optimized for mobile
If I had a PC why would I be playing on console? Why would anyone choose to play a less stable and less supported version of the game?

Have you managed to do it or are you just speculating?
OK so I managed to create (stole and renamed ziz early meta because it wouldn't let me name it the same thing) a loot filter and it shows on my "item filter" page but it doesn't appear in the item filter list in game.

I'm guessing we have to actually wait for the update file for metamorph? There was no information given GGG just said custom filter (including console) and then moved on.

I tried hard to make my own but there is no easy way to do it as you have to copy and paste section by section (cannot do the entire file at once, too big maybe?). Anyway after 3000+ lines of text I got a bunch of errors when I came to save it and I'm not searching for them and fixing them (did all this on my phone).
The version of PoE currently on consoles is 3.8 ie. Blight league. It doesn't know about account-stored loot filters; the game needs to be updated to check for those.

Version 3.9, ie. Metamorph league, arrives on Monday and support for account-hosted loot filters is incorporated into that.

Console restrictions do not come into this.

The problem is console browsers use outdated techology, are rarely updated to support newer HTML standards and formats, and often struggle to display complex pages properly due to not having sufficient RAM among other things.

Neither Sony nor Microsoft make any effort to limit or restrict what individuals can access via the browser. You can access porn, stream illegal TV, and play some flash games - it all depends on the site you visit and what web technology they use.

Not every person has access to a PC, however most people do have access to some form of mobile device: Android/IOS mobiles and tablets support "proper" ie. regularly updated and current web browsers such as Chrome and Firefox. These are usually more than sufficient for most tasks, and far better than the outdated browsers consoles use.

I actually hadn't realized this was going to be an added feature for Metamorph, so I'm happy to find this thread.

Out of curiosity, I went ahead and looked in the Item Filters on my account and found that I can Copy or Follow filters directly from that page. I'm currently at work, so I can't verify if they are coming up in game (PS4), but I'll check when I get home and update.

If that's the case, I think it would be entirely possible to follow a popular filter from your phone browser. And if you wanted to edit it, you could just copy it instead and edit the lines of code that you wanted to customize, rather than the whole thing.

Hopefully that helps?

There's a weird bug with the item filters on PS4. I had to open the options menu twice before they appear in the list. This seems to reset every time I go to a new area.

So, if you open the options menu and don't see your filter at the end of the list of filters, close the menu and open it again and it should be there.

Ah! Yeah, I hadn't caught on to that yet. I had gotten the new filters to come up once, but then crashed right after. Been renovating my bathroom otherwise and forgot to check again. Thanks for the tip!
