Hurray - saw the Teaser, hoped that this is what it meant.

Guess that I will have to learn how to use them now.

Would be really exciting, I'm moving from Xbox over to PC though. I can't handle the lack of console support.

All I've wanted these years was to see my name on a page with a some words I selected, that's apparently too much to ask though.

It would be interesting if you had the same system to copy hideout.

If they added controller support to the PC version I'd leave the console today.

I play Grim Dawn on PC with a controller, they swap/UI/mechanics on the fly if you touch the mouse even slightly it swaps back to mouse mode, and if you touch a stick it swaps back to controller, it's pretty well implemented.

The only reason it's not on PC is a choice by the devs. Even Blizz is adding controller support to D4 for PC, that's when you know times have changed.

Isn't GD coming to console soon? Haven't seen any exact ETA yet. How do you like it compared to PoE?

They are still working on the X1 version. I assume next year there will be a proper announcement as they have been adding a shit load of QoL features to the game which have been really nice lately.

I really enjoy ARPG's (even Diablo 3 for a few days each season) because they are easy to play after work, and if they have controller support that means I don't need to be at my desk and can lounge, relax and enjoy myself.

With that preface out of the way. Grim Dawn is quite different to PoE. I've played on and off for about 750 hours since I could get the earliest build and I would say it's my favorite of the bunch so far. It's purely focused on the single player aspect, even LAN games can get out of sync, but the developers have said they don't really have any interest in further developing network tech.

It has combat pacing more inline with Diablo 2, it's not zoom zoom like PoE which I am not a big fan of, especially on console when you just rubber band and lag when you go really fast. So that means combat is methodical and enemy mechanics are something even in the end of the game you still have to navigate, where as PoE you just 1 shot everything and enemy mechanics don't really matter (for the most part).

It's more forgiving in the build department and mixing and matching classes is quite fun. Itemization is like the best parts of PoE and Diablo 3, items come with a lot of stats, and sometimes they come with item powers that can be used like your regular skills or a proc, and sometimes you can build your build around items skills, it's quite fun trying out stuff. You have 2 skill trees to put points in to, and the devotion tree. You can augment items with a few stats to improve your gear and add components to them. Components are basically like gems that give your item extra stats and a active skill or passive proc, they are very fun to play with.

If you find an item that modifies a skill you are not using, but your class has it on the skill tree, it's quite straight forward to respec and play with that item

There are a lot of activities to do, bounties for reputation, the shattered realm which is basically like a 100 floors that get harder and harder as you get to the end, the crucible (DLC add that spawns waves of enemies each round), rogue-like dungeons with a few bosses and dungeon only items that drop that can't be found else where. And of course the single player campaign has a lot of acts to go through. It uses the traditional 3 difficulty setup, where you beat it on normal/elite/ultimate, which can be a bit tiring to go through I prefer 1 difficulty. They did in the most recent expansion add tokens you can buy that allow you start in ultimate, it's really hard, but a lot of fun.

There are still bosses I haven't beaten yet that are incredibly difficult, where as in PoE I have beaten all the hard content(except Hall of Grandmasters, but I am working on that)

So for those reasons I enjoy it.

I tend to come back to the game and level a few characters when they do a major patch which is usually 2 times a year-ish.

I hope that gives you an idea on what the game is like.

Exactly what I was looking for. I already have 3 builds lined up to try when it comes out. Will mainly play 1-3 people groups, hopefully the networking doesn't prevent this (should use the console backbone for this anyway).

Loved D2. Only hop on D3 for the season rewards, I like to collect stuff.
