I accidently beat the Elder. What now?

So there were coloured Maps on the atlas. Never saw them before.
Beat them bosses and suddenly im against the Elder. Beat him also at first try. Whats that all about? Feels totally random. What happens now? His influence will respawn eventually, you can spread his influence again and make him and his guardians reappear on the atlas.
BTW: His influence will respawn on a maptier you run the most from now up to the point his influence does reappear. So depending on what you want (red or yellow elder), you should choose the maptier you are running carefully. cheers |

ok, so he is basically a random bonus boss for bonus loot?

...and a part of the story line. After you progress Zana's quests and have the memory fragment off a t14 boss, her next task will be to kill the Elder on a red map. Then you get to kill the Shaper's Guardians, then the Shaper, then Uber Elder (= Shaper + Elder together.)
That will take a bit of playing unless you already have a bunch of guardian maps. Fortunately you can pick up where you left off in standard if you want, or do it again in 3.9. Good luck Last edited by GreyLensman#5323 on Dec 1, 2019, 2:03:25 PM

" Dont think so. Elder/Shaper mechanics will be different from 3.9 onwards. If he wants to farm elder/shaper - now is the time to do it. Might be very hard to get to fight them next league. |

Good point.
@OP ... Whether it makes sense to try to get one or both in the next week is really a function of how far along you are. If you're cruising through the high red maps and have a lot of them done, it should be no problem. If you're currently in white or yellow maps, it will take a big push. |

im running T11-T13 to slowly and savely rank up.
if i read correctly it might take around 20 maps till the guardians reapear? i think i just run maps without worrying. i run the maps vanilla, so i guess the expected loot will not be that great to risk a death. took me 2 days to get from 90-91, wasnt really fun anymore. im almost done with that game anyway. its just too repetitive for me. this is my last try to beat it at least once. Im bad at math.

" That was the regular Elder, and depending on what Tier the Elder (not his 4 guardians) spawned in that is the level of all the fights. Those fights are the easy version of the Uber Elder fight. Uber Elder fight also has Shaper inside the Arena. :) Now you work on spreading the influence to spawn Uber Elder. Good Luck! It's not that hard once you know how to do it. |
