What are considered as Spells?

Hello. I checked the Wiki but couldn't get any coherent answer.

What I'm really interested in knowing is are Trap skills Spells? I'm interested in finding out if the damage of Traps benefit from passive skills which give increases in Spell damage.

I believe that for a skill to be a "Spell," it must say so on the skill.

If you hover your mouse over the skill gem, right under the name, it tells you all the needed information about the gem. Bear trap, for example, is trap, spell, duration.

@Courageous, can you please identify whether Traps are Spells? In the Wiki, Spells is a keyword for Traps, but I don't see Spells in the Skill description.

if the keyword "spell" exist, its a spell, simple as that

want something more simplier?

if a skill has it's own base damage, then it is a spell. if a skill's damage is based on a weapon's damage, then its an attack. cant get more simpler than that
