Uber lab trial generation.

Dear GGG,

The current state of completing the Uber lab trials is disappointing.

If you play SSF you are relying heavily on RNG to side in your favour. Yes when zana offers trials you can choose that option but the odds of finding a trial uncompleted are against you.

The community has offered up some great suggestions which i hope you take on board and seriously consider; because reaching mid to high 90s and still being unable to complete Uber lab as a SSF player is discouraging to say the least.

Regards

Jet

Yeah, I don't know if it's purely random right now or what, but I'd appreciate it if it was even just a little bit weighted toward incomplete trials.

agreed. POE rng is really........odd. I got all my trials early, but haven't seen a single exalted orb drop this league. My housemate really struggled to get their last trial and seems to have gotten all my usual exalted orb drops plus some (I got their last trial - kept the instance open till they got home from work...lol). Same with unveils and immortal syndicate choices.

1. Using SSF as an excuse is not going to work, the game is not and will never be balanced around SSF.

2. There is already some weighting it seems, at least from the Zana missions. Unfortunately, I don't think that I can find you a source to back that claim up.

3. "mid to high 90s" ? That's seems like quite the exaggeration here. Please show us your "high 90s" characters in SSF Blight league.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

That was not being aggressive, you clearly used SSF to support your suggestion, and quite exaggerated your situation too.

The former might be because of not being aware that GGG is not and will never be balancing around SSF, you have the benefit of the doubt, but the later is quite disingenuous in my opinion.

There is absolutely NO weighting with Trials in Zana missions at all.

I think that you have about as much to support that claim that I have, so ...

You could say that I have the burden of proof in this case I guess, so you can do whatever you want with what I told you, let me just point out that your claim cannot be verified either though.

There have been discussions and some statistics about potential weighting, it seems likely there they have been weighted actually.

Feel free to believe what you want to believe though, we cannot be sure unless a dev confirms or refutes the claim.

PS : if you have a concrete example of somebody who leveled beyond 95 SSF, not skipping any trial and yet still not having accses to uber lab, I would be very curious to see it.
I think that it's just realistically impossible, which is why I am pointing out the "high 90s" as an exaggeration.

Seems weighted. Zana always offers me trials i dont already have.

Of course, that could be due to how easy it is to get them completed in the first place, i've normally got all the trials done before i reach yellow maps.

Lucky you, in Betrayal I needed 100+ trials to complete the last one, I had ridiculous RNG.

And this league I needed until lvl 92 to complete them as they just wouldn't show up... at all, neither in maps nor with Zana, the game just said 'fuck you, instead of giving you useless ones I'll just give you none now!'

So yeah... lucky you.

Yes, they are weighted though, not even remotely properly done to have the right ones show up until the time you should have em.
GGG balance is like getting a pizza which is burnt on the sides, raw in the middle and misses the most of the toppings.
Then upon sending it back you get a raw side, burnt middle and enough toppings to drench everything in grease.
Everything fixed but still broken.

What you point out would seem to prove the exact opposite of what you conclude. What you pointed at assumed a completely uniform distribution of trials.

The assumption is that all 6 types always appear uniformly at random.

So they are not weighted according to your own source. It is so like you to read what you want instead of reading what is written.

I finally got the sixth trial at character level 88. It was about 20 trials total. Labyrinth is a bad not fun part of the game. Completing the 6 endgame trials is complained about frequently. GGG really should weight the trials to make completion more predictable and consistent. It's a good argument to play standard in order to bypass this bad part of the game.
