What AV do you run?

I have used avast for years but they are bugging me. They recently put in a "secure" browser without permission and it is annoying af.

Suggestions?

if you're using windows 10, the built in security suite is fine.

Dont open weird emails.
Get a strict adblock for your browser.
Dont torrent shit.

No problem.
Windows Default Firewall. And I torrent a lot.

Just don't click on the ads.

Personally, I find firewalls completely useless in most cases, unless your running a company.

I don't run one. They all sap computer resources, and over a period of time, the time spent jumping through hoops of having the inconvenience of an AV getting in your way, somehow, during normal PC activities, you'd be inconvenienced less by getting a virus on rare occasions.

Now, if you're the kinda person who goes to random porn sites, and clicks all the ads and pop-ups, no AV will protect you from stupidity. Same goes for downloading shady torrents. However, not being stupid on the internet is the best AV you can have.

sums it up. i don't use an AV because i don't want a virus. the worst ones you can get are ones you pay subscription fees for. i guarantee you right when you need to renew your sub it will detect a bunch of viruses! or shortly after it expires, etc.
I have stopped using anti virus software years ago, Win 10 built in stuff is good enough. I just have this built in OCD when it comes to online safety, never download anything sketchy, nuke everything on websites by using things like Brave Browser or at least uBlock. I have also stopped pirating software many years ago, too much hassle and risk.

And no usb sticks from unknown sources as well. If I have any doubts I just run Spybot and Malwarebytes on my PC but I do that maybe once every 4 years.
Be ready. You're not paranoid, you're PREPARED.

I quit this game every few months and so should you to continue playing it in the future.

The device is believed to have been dropped
standard antivirus for win10, standard firewall (though I don't need one of those at all, heh)

Ha! That is me. I don't torrent, go to dodgy sites, etc. I am a creature of habit. But I did lose the av and now pc starts quicker.

I haven't used any AV in years. The default AV that comes with Windows 10 is enough unless you click on everything, and even then I don't think anything would help you anyway. I run a scan with Malwarebytes every now and then just in case, but it never found anything.
Using Avast too and even paid for it. Worked well so far.
