Multimodding does only work if one has 2prefixes or suffixes empty?

Hi guys,

found a super nice helm with 2 prefixes and 2 suffixes. Asked a guy and he told me no point in Multimodding, cause 2prefixes! So Multimodding doesn´t work anymore, right? One would have to craft and than EX?

"Can have multiple crafted modifiers" is a crafted suffix that allows you to multimod an item. If you craft it onto your helmet you are left with 1 prefix to craft, which makes it pointless to multimod, because you could just craft that prefix without multimod.

This is a kind of item you do want to multimod. In this case i have a rare mod "Ele as chaos" and the rest is multimoded, because it would be harder and more expensive to try and craft something better than the 4 mods i crafted on it.

where i need multiple mods on my ring that can only be crafted (-mana cost, shock nearby enemies and faster start of es recharge). There is no way to get these stats together without multimod, which makes it worth it

Multimodding takes up a slot, and you can only have 6 slots total. You would never multimod something that has 4 slots already taken (unless one of those slots is from a crafting bench).

It's nonsensical; you do not understand the fundamentals of crafting if this is not blatantly obvious.

You´re absolutly right that I didn´t understand the fundamentels of crafting! That´s why I´ve asked!

One could craft 5th affix and then EX the 6th, yes.

Or, one could possibly find it more attractive to Split the item via beastcrafting, producing two items with half affixes each (so 2 per piece, i believe).

Or, one may find it best to use Orb of Annulment on the item hoping for just one least wanted affix to go, and if it happens, then perhaps multimod;

Or, one may even deem it optimal to try to add 2 veiled mods into such an item, which can be done raiding Research branch of the Immortal Syndicate with Aisling being part of the branch and being at rank 2 or rank 3 (rank 1 won't do).

Which exactly way to go with that item - if any of them at all - depends heavily on player's goals, wealth, experience and the specific features of the item itself.

The "gain x % of non-chaos damage as extra damage" mod looks awesome... where can I find that modifier? It's no in the gamepedia list of sceptre modifiers.
