When Can My Witch Pick Elementalist and Access Passive Skills For That?

Does the Witch get to ascend to Elementalist after finishing the entire Labyrinth? I just started it.

If not the labyrinth when and where? I'm finishing up Part 1 Act 3.

Is there any kind of flow chart or timeline for PoE? I'm in the Standard League and haven't a clue what happens next though my old With Build seems strong. Piety was easy.

Main concern is I don't want to learn that 5 levels back I should have picked Elementalist somehow and now it is to late and can't ascend.

In the labyrinth I finished the first "challenge" area found the next but didn't start it. Instead I either missed seeing or couldn't find the exit(portal) so I used a scroll and it warned me I was quitting the labyrinth... Am I going to have to do the first "challenge" all over again now? Can you leave in-between "challenges" or must one finish the entire labyrinth in one go?

first you have to complete all the trials then you can access the lab. after finishing the first lab you can learn to elementalist.
