Dynamic Resolution never kicks in.
Happening since legion. I have an rx580 gpu, i7 3770k cpu. No SSD yet, but i have one coming on the mail soon. The game completely ignores the dynamic resolution setting, dropping down to 10~20 fps on large fights.
I've tried turning it off and on, changing my profile settings on radeon to make it as basic as possible, disabling v-sync, nothing works. Please help. 10 fps is bad. Last bumped on Jul 22, 2019, 2:16:50 AM

Hi Raikke,
This might solve your issue. Press and hold the Windows key and press R, which opens the Run dialog. Copy/paste the following line of text into the text entry field and press ENTER. " Delete the following file and your settings will be completely reset. " I would then restore the default settings in AMD Radeon Software and test from there. If that doesn't work then it might be driver related, in which case you'll want to perform a clean reinstall of your graphics driver package. Streaming Path of Exile on Twitch: Twitch.tv/ActionRPGs

First of all, thank you very much for your reply.
Deleted the file, now doing a clean install of the latest radeon update. Will post again once i'm done. |

It seems it did not work. :(
But i did notice something that i forgot to add to my original post: Dynamic Resolution actually does kick in at like 5 frames per second. Since it only lasts a moment, it's pretty difficult to notice. The only post i've found talking about this is a 1 year old comment on this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/6rz28v/dynamic_resolution_not_working_for_me/ EDIT: Installed SSD, reinstalled PoE from scratch on it. No change. Last edited by Raikke#0266 on Jun 23, 2019, 1:44:04 PM

Bump. Support asked me to update driver. No change.

UPDATE: Found a weird bandaid. Setting dynamic_resolution_fps=180 on the production_Config.ini file makes it behave somewhat normally. As if the game is only activating dynamic res at 1/3 of the supposed value.
