Difference btw 1H Swords and Thrusters?
I see the wiki has a listing for 1H swords and 1H "thrusting" swords. Is there a functional difference between these two categories besides different potential stat rolls? Is one designed for a specific class?

Thrusting swords require only dex to use it and since you have lots of dex, you have natural accuracity. Since they don't require strenght, it bonus is critical damage.
Many have a big gap between min-max damage too. And they can have a VERY high attack speed. Blades are more heavier swords, and since they need more strenght, have a accuracity bonus. They have a high minimum damage (except for sabre, cutlass and corsair since the are faster blades). They have a heavy attack and low attack speed. Any class can use both swords but blades are more duelist oriented, thruster for rangers. But this is a matter of personal preference. P.S.: Sorry for my bad grammar and english. And Rapiers and Foils (Thrusting Swords) are more fancy and fashionable, if you are a Pirate Duelist.
As a Duelist, style is important. ![]() ![]() Alexis *smiles* =@[.]@= boggled =~[.]^= naughty wink Last edited by Kwonryu#3444 on Mar 9, 2013, 9:07:54 AM

basically the rapiers are half sword/half dagger. They have a higher damage than daggers but a lower crit chance mod than daggers (20% instead of 40%).

" Daggers have 40% crit *chance*, rapiers have 20% crit *multiplier*. Different stats, and you need both if you want to deal a lot of damage through crits. 40% crit chance and 20% crit mult are somewhat balanced by the fact that crit chance is more abundant on the passive tree than crit multiplier. |
