Watched a good movie today?

Thread to post good movies you've recently watched. Yesterday, I watched 2 movies I thought were very good.



If you want to watch a decent drug cartel (MS-13) movie you'll probably like this one. The movie kept it real. Movie had lots of interesting twists. The spoiler below is not a serious-spoiler btw.


Synopsis below.

"Lucas, a 14-year-old boy inducted into the gang life in Washington, D.C., is determined that his 10-year-old brother won't follow the same path. When an Afghanistan war veteran comes into the neighborhood, an opportunity arises."




Level 16 is probably the best movie I've watched in years. I never got bored! The pacing in this movie was great! Director did a really good job slowly unraveling the mystery of WTF is going on in that "boarding-school". Highly recommend Level 16 if you have not watched it. There was a moment near the end of the movie where I felt like crying!!

The Highwaymen 2019. Brilliant film with a cast that includes some of the best actors. Much enjoyed the look into the past ... the cars, the clothes, the music, the ways of life. Recomend!

Last movie I watched was A Quiet Place. If you turn off your brain a bit and don't question the premise too much, it's a very good movie.

Today was the first day of the new Criterion.

I watched 8 1/2 (Fellini). I've seen it before but years ago. Tomorrow (time allowing) going to check out The Elephant Man. I never saw the movie only the play.

Synopsis:

Since I'm lurking on the off topic thread I'll add one I watched and liked recently. I really prefer historical epics with at least some truth tio them.

Russian movie about Genghis Khan's early life, takes some historical liberties, a given since very little is known of his youth. Briliant cinematics, ethnic actors.
