In this guide you will find all nessessary informations about my Storm Brand Occultist. I currently still work on the build so everything in here is subject to change.

Build explanation
So first of all
What is the build about:
Disclaimer: This build is not going to kill Uber Elder, Shaper or any other end game Boss in a fraction of seconds. But can do them if you realy want. However its not the build concept to do that.

So when i created this build i solely needed a character to farm syndicate. The charakter was ment to do nothing but act 10 Ossuary and farm me those sweet scarabs i need for my challenges in SSF. At about level 85 i decided that this char might be a good candidate for delve 600 and maybe even level 100. But what do we do?

We run and let all packs we encounter explode. Thats it. If youre lucky you can os some bigger targets but usualy we just run and pop packs.

This is a strange section for this build since i do not do much different stuff.
I mean... i did Shaper and all Guardians. Didn't try Uber Elder yet.
But that is not what this build is for anyways. I am currently at delve level 400 and clearing smooth. Even did a Vaal City boss down there but it took ages and 4 trys.
There might some bossvideos be coming but im not too sure yet.
However:
Goal is level 100 and delve 600 on this char and it should be achieveable fairly easy.

200iq weapon swap

On this build we use the 200iq weapon swap.
What do we need:
Blood rage socketed in weapon.
Arakali Pantheon with the "50% increased recovery rate of life and energy shield if you've stopped taking damage over time recently".

Now if you have bloodrage activated and weapon swap twice quickly you remove bloodrage and activate the pantheon for a huge regen boost. This helps deactivating blood rage in bossfights quickly aswell.

But we can take this to the next level
In our weaponswap we want following setup:

With this we aswell gain 1k flat es and culling strike during weapon swap
You can use a much bigger shield but we want to keep it reasonable
If you do not want the cull you can aswell use

for an even bigger es boost during weapon swap. This can safe you quite some exp on your way up to 100



Pro's and Con's

Pro's:
Easy to play
Fast and smooth level experience
Very quick map clear
very good surviveability
Little button smashing
No gem or equipment swapping required but can be used for some cool stuff
Has very few Mapmods to avoid (Elemental reflect and no reg are no goes)
...


Con's:
Very little boss damage against guardians+.
Some pieces might be expensive if you want good boss dmg or alot of speed.

Weapon

For the weapon we just want a good rare like mine

You are looking for following in the written order.
Spell damage
Crit chance to spells
Crit mult
Non chaos as extra chaos
Flat added Damage

Shield
Spoiler

For the shield we are using Invictus Solaris or Vix Lunaris
They both are pretty much the same shield and mostly differ in "can not be ignited / can not be frozen".
With the Invictus solaris you can ignore all kinds of ignite which is overall pretty nice.
With the Vix lunaris you can ignore freeze which frees up a flask slot for another unique flask like Atziri's Promise. However chill might be annoying. But you loose out on about 400-700 es.


Helmet

For the helmet we just want a rare helmet with shitton of es and resis.


Bodyarmor

The bodyarmour aswell is just a piece of rare gear with tons of es.

You can go for a shaper base with increased crit but it isn't realy nessessary and very hard to craft with much es.

Gloves

For the gloves we want the Shadows and Dust gloves. The rampage buffs increases our clearspeed massively. Expecialy in delve and Elder Toxic Sewer.


Boots

For the boots i use Seven League Steps since those give the highest movespeed. I still need the enchant for them but hate lab these days :D

You can upgrade for delvecrafted es boots with 35+movespeed and cooldown recovery but i like Seven League Steps and the other ones are very hard to craft / expensive.

Belt

For the Belt we have 2 options.
We either use a +36% movespeed unique belt out of the temple for clearspeed.

Or a well crafted shaper base with cooldown recovery speed and energy shield recovery speed. I would suggest a heavy belt for that so you can drop 2 strength nodes on the tree.

Rings

For the rings we have some special wishes
One of the rings must be a normal rare with shitton of resists

The other one should be a shaper ring with "Assassins Mark on hit"

In a perfect world one of those should aswell be an unset ring with +2-3 to socketed gems.


Amulet

For the amulet we want a rare with lots of str/dex/resis and es


Jewels

For the jewels we want 1-2 Energy from Wthin

In addition i would suggest 1-2 searching eyes with onslaught on kill

Fill up with either Cobalt Jewels or Hypnotic Eye Jewels

If you have the money you can play around with Watcher's Eye jewels.
In addition i would suggest a "can not be inflicted with corrupted blood" corruption to drop another flask.

Flasks

For the flasks we want the following setup:

Quartz Flask with bleed removal is a good choice since it has a decent uptime and enough charges to use it when you need it.
If you have a jewel with the "can not be inflicted with corrupted blood" you can put freeze removal on this flask

The Diamond Flask is a good choice for freeze removal for the same reasons as the Quartz Flask. If you put freeze removal on the Quartz Flask you want "+80% to global critical strike chance during flask effect" on this baby.

The Wise Oak provides us with good surviveability and damage if you manage to tripplebalance your resistances. If not take an Atziri's Promise over the Wise Oak.

We wanna go fast. So we do.

A Stibnite Flask with curse removal is one of my favorites. It has enough charges to even be up in long bossfights. With a very good rolled one you can have 4 uses without refilling which equals to over 25sec curse removal.





Gems

Offensive Setups:
Storm Brand in Bodyarmour:

Vaal BV / Lightning Spire Trap in gloves/boots/helmet



Movement
Walk. Thats what you have legs for.

Defensive/utility setups
CWDT Immortal Call / Bloodrage in weapon.


Brand Recall in Shield

You have to decide between enhance and Vaal Haste.

Auras and Buffs
Vaal Discipline in Unset Ring

Enfeeble and Wrath in boots/gloves/helmet

Aim for level 4 Enlighten. You need level 3 to start using 3 auras.
Vaal Haste in shield if you do not use Enhance




Leveling

Leveling with this is quite simple.
You equip your favourite unique leveling gear and are good to go
At level 12 take Storm brand and youre good to go.
You might want to go for early vaal bv to take down bosses and lightning spire trap when you hit 28.

FAQ

Q: Is this build possible on a budget
A: Yea it is.

Q: How good is the surviveability
A: Surviveability is very good. When you manage your Pantheon weapon swap you have huge regen.

Q: Is the build uber elder viable?
A: Did not do yet and the dmg on bosses is quite bad. Shaper didn't feel too nice already. He was easy but took some minutes.

Q:Which Pantheon do you use
A:Arakali + minor of choice

Why occultist over elementalist? It seems to me like the brand playstyle is inherently safe and the elementalist makes all content easy in one build.

Aside from completely trivializing uber elder, you also have the option of being reflect immune for league starts while still doing more dps than occultist.

I haven't gotten quite as deep in the mines as you (still around 280), so perhaps that's the main reason, but I don't see the need for more durability at this point.

Its about the pure lifepool with verz little investment into es. We can use rampage gloves + movespeed belt + seven league steps and still reach 9-12k es and 3-6k es reg per sec. This is enough to survive most oneshots deeper in the mine.

Elementalist might have more damage overall, but its unnessessary for clearing t16 and delve.

Actualy not. This build will still most likely work as before since we did not rely on huge dmg on storm brand anyways.This one is only for clearing, where we just trigger ocultist explosions. For single target we use bv/lightnign spire who still both are fine.
