Highest Damage Dot Build?

I'm trying to think of a different character style to play and I decided on a dot build. I'm only knowledgeable about a few builds so far, Curse Bot, RF and Molten strike. Looking for suggestions on what class/build you think is the best for a dot focused build. Thanks in advanced.

CI cold dot occultist (cold snap) can swap to vortex as main skill when you have 10k+ es and the damage to go close range. Waggle on twitch is playing it and is farming upgraded chayula breachstones so the damage is good.

Thank you. I'm not sure if you picked occultist because that is my highest level char this season. I plan to keep it a curse bot and make another char. If you still think Occultist is one of the best for DOT damage I'll make another witch. My plan was to pick another class (not witch) and turn it into a dot damage class.

Im sure you could make a functioning one with trickster but the new cold DoT ascendencies on the witch are very nice.

You can probably research either one and take your pick.

I'm playing MoM Cold Snap/ Vortex Trickster.
Is amazing. I'm undecided about Arctic Armour in my build but in any case, cold Trickster is great.

I am chaos resist capped too. Never done that before but my build requires it basically.

It's experimental and opens up so many chances for customization and tweaks, and have potential to hit millions of dps on the long run.

That, or I'd recommend Toxic Rain Pathfinder.

I can't stress how much I really appreciate POE community. In most forum if you ask an open question you get very few responses and the ones you get are people trying to belittle you. Everyone who has posted to this topic has given me a direction and I've done a bunch of research off it. I really want to thank you to the people who have responded too this post.

Essence Drain+Contagion+Blight+Decay+Aspect of the Spider, with Temporal chains and Despair Curse.
CI Occultist has free Despair/Hinder and good scaling.
But you could play trickster as well.

Armageddon Brand has a fat more ignite damage multiplier and you can spread ignites plus just focus on the ignite damage instead of the hit.
