My respec into Magma Orb/Gloomfang lacks damage and dies alot - HELP!

As is the title, respecced into Inquisitor/mag orb build using Mathil's POB and I've done something very wrong but not sure what. My damage sucks and I'm squishy af. My character profile should be open - any advice much appreciated.

The only thing that stands out to me is that you are not using an Atziri's Promise flask, which gives a bit of damage but more importantly life leech from Chaos damage during flask effect. Something that Mathil was using.

Remember that its the last couple of bounces where all the damage will happen, have to aim them correctly.

Same here mate, I have 500k dps with all flasks and power charges turned on in pob, I wonder if his pob had the gloomfang chain damage figured in somehow.

well with less than 5k es/hp you gonna die a lot and for dmg thing you need to get indigon solo gloomfang dmg is is just 2x than regular spell so you wont notice something magical there :P also i suggest go heropants for this kinda build (spoilers : magma orb is not that great for boss killing as it looks p.s. so with hero you can later switch to sr totem which with same items work very great for boss ) GL

you guys are all doing something very, very wrong. if you follow mathils poe building, you can 1 shot shaper phases and tear uber elder a new one. The build IS very squishy though and there's nothing you can do about that.

I am following GornoDDs build (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2094356) and surviability is just fine. He focuses more on defense while the damage is comparable.

I still have a lot to improve gearwise, but so far i like the build.
