Holy relic's nova is not "hitting" enemies
|
The wiki says holy relic emits a nova and can be supported by gems like other nova spells.
Other nova spells hit and work with on hit effects. Holy relic is not working with my curse on hit supports. Is this WAD or a bug? If it is WAD there needs to be a different description of the spell the holy relic uses to damage enemies. Last bumped on Sep 20, 2018, 7:28:22 PM

Holy Relic does hit enemies. But you should take a closer look at the Curse on Hit gem, because it states:“Minions cannot apply curses this way.“

Nor can Abberath's hooves - they don't 'hit', apparently, so CoH does not work with them.
SO many interactions SO poorly written out, though. Like - Other than inc AoE, WTF can support the relic? Faster casting? Added ele? Summon on kill (phantasm)?? Patch Notes 3.15:
Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive. Patch Notes 3.19: Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment. |

" I think he hit it on the head here. The support gem specifically says that it does not work with minions. As to other On-Hit effects, they should work fine but testing would need to be done. |

" There is a very helpful new piece of UI added in this patch that clearly shows which supports can apply to which active gems. Besides that, it is really just as simple as reading the description of both gems carefully, not only the skill's name. Last edited by Abdiel_Kavash#5296 on Sep 20, 2018, 7:14:23 PM

Holy Relic is a minion. Stuff that supports minions also supports Holy Relic. This includes a plethora of damage gems, Culling Strike (which is a very useful support for SHR), the aforementioned Inc. AoE, funky combinations like Combustion (if using other sources of fire damage) or the like.
SHR is an extremely useful little critter for folks with a bit of creativity. She/Her
