so i discovered how to reach hidden rooms.

Finally, roughly 120 flares later and some testing i finnaly managed to make the "click" moment on how hidden rooms are designed and reached.

So first of all, forget about reaching a hidden room from along a path the crawler has made.

First check your map and the hidden room you want to reach, then locate the nearest waypoint to it. Visit that waypoint and take a route in the direction of the hidden room that is not yet discovered with your crawler.

For example, let's say i have a hidden room on the left location of my waypoint.

- first clear out all connecting crawler paths of that waypoint.(not necesery but makes it easier)
- then do a circular scouting around the waypoint and look for a path that is covered in darkness leading to the hidden room.
- Work yourself into that path and blow up the walls with explosives when you reach them.

After thinking about it, it makes sense since you need to take the crawler from a waypoint to the hidden room. So you bassicaly wanna blow up the walls on the hidden route he will need to traverse to reach the hidden room destination.

Keep in mind that a hidden room usually has like three waypoints that can reach it, but only one will have the hidden path.
So simply go to all of them and do the circular scouting.

If it's not the correct waypoint you will have paths that the crawler already cleared out(assuming you took all connecting waypoints already) and simple death ends.

And one waypoint will differge from this pattern and have an unscouted passage.

Not sure if this makes sense but i hope it helps somebody cause i sure wish i knew this before wasting a ton of time "hugging walls" along a path already cleared out by the crawler.

Ive seen the leaderboard delve digger spend 20 minutes trying and failing to find a hidden room. This feels a little too challenging even for poe standards.

Once you understand how it works it's very easy though.

Just cleared out like 3 hidden rooms i skipped on earlier levels.

I think the mayor non-intuitive thing about them is that they don't split off a crawler path but from a waypoint section.
I also spend like an hour and more looking for a hidden room by clearing out all the walls of a crawler path searching for the "entrance" before i realized how they are designed.

Start your search for them from the waypoint and don't follow a path already made by the crawler.

Once you blow up the wall and return to the crawler safely you will have created a new path for the crawler to take towards the room.(it still cost sulphite to move the crawler there though)

i have no idea what you're talking about. but for there to be like 3 connecting things to it, but only one will actually get there, then how much time are you potentially wasting to find it - and how many resources.

seems not worth in the slightest.

My explenation is pretty poor.

But do this for me and maybe you will understand it better

=> enter your delve and look for a waypoint that has a death end and no hidden rooms near it.

Visit that waypoint and do a circular scout walk around it.

You should see it has

- 1 point of entrance for the crawler leading you back
- 3 rooms that instantly have a death end

Now in a waypoint with a hidden room attached to it it will have

- points for the crawler to enter and exit to the next visible waypoint
- a death end if it's not a visible T section on your delve map
- an undiscovered path in the darkness

Now let's say the hidden room has three waypoints that are close it, then only one of those will have this undiscovered path in the darkness.
All the other waypoints will have death end rooms or points of entrance/exit for the crawler.

Try it out on a hidden room you skipped in earlier progression.(your upgrades will be better in those levels)

So bassicaly it takes 20 seconds to scout all the waypoints and another 5 minutes to actually find the wall and blow it up.

this is pretty helpful:

Once people figure it out they will wonder how did they ever find currency while leveling before Delve league even though atm they say it harms their progression. Last night I needed 2 chaos to buy a 50% damage Bronne's Lithe. So I went delving. In 10 minutes I found 4 fossils and 3 chaos.

I agree the currency nodes have the best output of any league mechanic so far. It is rare for poe to have a deterministic reward.

Nice writeup @Boem - took me some time to figure it out on my own though.

1-4 discovered waypoints
5 lootz

Just visit all 4 waypoints and do a quick scouting without flares - just heal yourself up. One waypoint will have a longer stretch you'll notice on the minimap, that's were the wall is.

Obviously most big ticket loot is surrounded by more waypoints - so more scouting to do.

I'd like to add a tip:

Haven't noticed it before myself oO

Every Azurite Vault has numbers below it's icon from I-III (maybe more?). The bigger, the more Azurite. Plan your way accordingly.

Cheers,

PS: Sorry for my bad drawing skills.
This helped me, nonetheless finding them is annoying.
