Primordial Eminence with Spiritual Command
|
Hi, i'm trying to create a build with golems as my support minions and i was wondering if Primordial Eminence would apply it's attack speed on me if i had the Spiritual Command node.
Spiritual Command says:"Increases and reductions to minion attack speed also affect you". Primordial Eminence says:"Golems have (16-20)% increased Attack and Cast Speed". Since golems are minions do i get the attack speed? Thank you. Last bumped on Aug 30, 2018, 6:06:38 AM

I expect the answer is "no". It says "minion attack speed" and the jewel specifically says it affects golems only. you are not a golem :)

Generally, what these mods mean is that [X] game stat is added to/substituted for [Y] game stat. In this instance, whatever variable value the game is currently storing in your "Bonus to generic minion attack speed" slot is added to whatever your own attack speed bonus is.
Obviously nobody can confirm this without a Mark post, but this is how The Scourge and similar items in the past have worked. It's the easiest to do from a coding perspective, and also easier to balance. Sadly, that does mean Primordial equipment doesn't work nicely with it. Oh well. Can still scale generic minion modifiers and combine something else cool with Golemancy. She/Her

The short answer is no.
The longer answer is that all the stats which make modifiers apply to something they normally don't only do as much as they explicitly say. For example, the Crown of Eyes stat that says "Increases and Reductions to Spell Damage also apply to Attacks" does that - it does not remove or change any other restrictions on those modifiers. So a modifier to Spell Fire Damage would apply to Attack Fire Damage, rather than not applying at all, or applying to attack damage of all types. This works the same way - modifiers to Golem damage only apply to minions that are golems - this stat theoretically means they applies to both minions and you, but it doesn't remove the "that are golems" part. So theoretically if you are a golem, it should apply to you. Since you can't be a golem, we haven't had to bother actually coding that interaction, because it can never happen.
