Increase Quality on Vaal Gems

I know this may have been answered before but I tried researching and I couldn't find the answer.

With the way vaal gems have combined with regular gems, do the same techniques apply?

For example, if I take a max level Vaal Blade Vortex and a Gemcutter's Prism and trade them to a vendor, will I receive a level 1 Vaal Blade Vortex?

If not would I need to include Vaal Orbs?

If I need to use Vaal Orbs how many would I need?

I doubt it, i'll be fairly sure the way you get 20% is either to find one pre corrupted with 20% qual on it, to do it before you corrupt it and if there is a way through one of the new game mechanics.

They purposely don't allow Vaal Gems to quality easily and now that they are better than ever in most cases, they probably won't make it any easier.

For example, with my build wanting Vaal Summon Skeletons as a 6l, my best and only surefire bet is to power level normal skele gems to 20/20 and vaal them. If I want 20 quality vaal gem. There is only a chance of it being the correct corruption and really that is fine and supposed to be that way. Quality only adds so much to the build anyway so a lvl 20 non quality or low quality vaal gem will have to do until you can do something 20/20 vaaling or buying one from trade.

It's not crucial for my own build as I'm doing the Triple Herald Blade Vortex build. I just received the Vaal Blade Vortex so I was wondering if there was a method to the madness.

Judging by how you can't do the reset or down a level recipes with Vaal gems I don't think the GCP recipe will work either.

Honestly, pretty easy to get quality vaal gems from the temple anyway as long as you build it right.

I've gotten probably close to a dozen quality vaal gems from the temple already and I've only had the opportunity to get my foot into a10. Actually got really lucky on getting Vaal Impurity of Fire and Vaal RF, they've gone great on my Incinerate build :)
