Volatile Dead Trap Elementalist (Hellraizzer)

About the build
Pro/cons
Spoiler
Pros: The build is a block and evasion build, but also relies on phasing to become less visible to the enemy. Each time a trap triggers you gain phasing for 4 seconds, frenzy charges 100 life, and 50 energy shield> During the time your phasing is active enemies will focus their attention on your fire golems. The golems are immune to elemental damage and are quite rugged. They also provide a double bonus to your fire damage. The golems are a large part of the builds survival.

Cons: often times the enemies die so fast you end up throwing your traps into empty space. This can be quite frustrating when your depending on your trap throws for self healing. Interruptions in your heal cycle can result in near death experiences. To counter this we use the Sunblast belt. Traps not directly triggered will still yield corpses after a short period of time . These delayed traps may not yield other benefits, but at the very least the elemental orbs can still kill nearby enemies and leach for you.

I reccoment no less than 4k life with 100 life regeneration per second, and no less than 1400 mana with 100 mana regen per second. As defences go, try and achieve 49% blocking with 40% or better evasion.

I feel like I posted this build too soon. I had several people keep asking me to post my variation on this build. Perhaps I should consider this more of a work in progress. I know of at least one person who used several of my idea's in conjunction with the Templar chaos build. He claims that its working out well for him. Normally I spend a few months on a build testing new idea's and skill variants. However with the wiki being all messed up I didn't really have all the resources available to me.

So I'm very interested in hearing some criticism from the community. I may not be the best player, but its theory crafting builds that I enjoy the most. Having only been with the game for a short time there are many options that I've not experienced or explored yet.

Does anyone care to share their idea's about they might improve the build?
Why have desecrate in a trap setup instead of spell cascade?
I get this question a lot. The way it works is you throw the traps at an enemy. They trigger giving you phasing, frenzy charges, and also 100/50 life and energy shield per trap. So now your 80% less visible and the enemies ignore you and chase your golems around.

Now, some of the enemies will walk over your traps setting them off about a second later. You've all ready cast Volatile dead once, now you get to cast it again. Then comes the sunblast belt. Any traps that have not yet been triggered expire and summon more corpses. This allows a third casting of volatile dead.

Watch the video's, You'll see me throw the trap and cast volatile dead 3 times gaining more than maximum corpses that desecrate would normally allow. In this video you see a good example of that when I fight the towers between the litch fight.https://youtu.be/uDGTuIwL-es Sometimes I can get up to about 30 elemental orbs. More orbs is more dps, however I will admit the method I'm using is less damage than some of the other builds. I went for quantity over quality. The self healing is a large part of the build. This is a glass cannon to be sure, getting the healing cycle right takes effort and is the difference between being dead and crushing the enemies.
Hey everyone I've kinda stopped working on this build and returned to the Max_Stax build from last league. The original thread had lots of activity, but this one isn't seeing as much attention from the community. The build is an interesting variation to VD. I can accept my idea's didn't win any rewards for being the best. Never the less its an original approach to VD and if you like trap builds, its not bad and its lots of fun.

GL and have fun.
