Red force field stops me from completing first quest in the game.

I HAD killed Hillock but then closed the game. For a few years.

Returned to the game now, only to find this block preventing me from proceeding.

My quest state must be messed up. Edit: Hillock is dead so did not spawn. Force field is still there. Maybe it only disappears when Hillock dies. But he is already dead. Or never was alive to begin with. Logic error? Edit 2: Or maybe it spawns after Hillock is killed. But then I am on the wrong side of it now!

I could delete my character, sure... But I want to keep it. Screenshot:

Edit: Yes, the whole map is explored, I see no other avenues available to me. Delete character and start again...

Edit 2: There is no Waypoint, this is act 1 zone 1. No one can enter it except first time characters. No one may return after Hillock dies. Also AFAIK TP scrolls don't drop here so I cannot get past the force field by teleporting to town or even entering a new zone. Can't do that.

Edit 3: Bug ID is 1 269 500 596 low amount of accounts affected. (I have three stuck)

i mean ur lvl 2 or something, i dont think its that big of a tragedy to delete your chartacter and start again, you can even use the same username because I highly doubt someone will snatch it in the 5 seconds between deleting and making a new character.

It is a bug, I am a bug hunter. Not really concerned about the character, just justice. About the username, I think it says its own story:

I farmed those level 1 zombies until they almost completely stopped giving XP. Creating new zones over and over as soon as I finished a full clear. Hillock still gave good XP though. Stopped because I finally got the achievement I was farming. (Get a unique drop in the first zone.)

Thing is, I want the tutorials, I'm relatively new to the game. Just returned after years of hiatus.

Also, I did read all of them so far. Inventory, skill gems, mana, etc etc. I wonder what they were thinking, putting a wall there. There is no tutorial left to read (or skip), so why force-lock the user stuck in place?

I thought it was a strange idea. No way a mere tutorial would block players this hard. Must be something else. Edit: No, bSun0000 is correct; it's in fact blocked by the tutorial. Such bs. I cannot skip it anymore.

Over 1000 days spent in this zone, over who knows how many patches. Hillock farming might be an impossible niche to do now. The force field might have been added to prevent backtracking. I'm just on the wrong side of it.

I just want to enter town, deposit my currency items, the one unique, and then delete this char so I can make a new one (I'm constantly at character limit).
Plus, I have two more, ThreeIcehillockFarmer_A and ThreeIcehillockFarmer_B to be emptied and deleted.

Usually you're supposed to equip the weapon, active skill gem and support gem from the large chest in Twilight Strand. If you did all these things, then there's nothing more to do but make a new char. Maybe try some new content for a change? :)

Thank you for the thorough description. Sounds reasonable, might just work indeed! However, no tutorial is telling me to do these things. (Not anymore anyway...)
This is such bs. I wish the skip button was still there... It is gone though. I never clicked it.

Two problems with completing the tutorial:
Currently I only have the support gem from that big chest, the two other things are missing; no skill gem, and no weapon to put it in.

1: I probably destroyed that junk 2L white weapon I started with a long, long time ago. I'm currently using a rare (with only one socket). Or maybe even the unique that dropped from Hillock? My other gear has no usable links either. (Got a 3L red-blue-green helmet I'm saving to vendor once (if ever...) I get into town, but I'm an archer so I'll probably need green-green. I have no chromatics in my inventory either, to try and fix it.)
I'm not even sure if they'd count in a hat. I'll probably have to farm up an identical 2L weapon. From level 1 zombies that drop 0-1 item each...

2: I don't have my original skill gem either. Using a 10% quality frost nova instead that I got on my ~50th attempt. But I believe I can get another from that first zombie fast enough. So only the weapon will be troublesome.
