Using orbs on strongboxes

Hello,

Can you tell me how many orbs do you using on different strongboxes? What a mod is good on box?

Typically I carry around a few Transmutes just to throw on white strongboxes while mapping. It just increases the chances of some extra mobs, magic or rare critters and usually gives a little more loot. It's really not worth the time to spend carefully rolling strongboxes and they are really just used for some instant mob density, kill the critters then move on.

I have three exceptions to this:

1. I'f I'm running higher level maps that have been chiseled, rolled well and I'm using a bunch of sextants on, then I might choose to vaal a few boxes to obtain some mirrored items (chance orb recipe) or hope for a corrupted 6 link. It's a frivolous thing to do though because it doesn't have a high chance of success and you can also brick an item that would otherwise be useful. Not much of a risk there though seeing as 99.9999% of stuff that drops is just shit.

2. If you're doing a league that has a challenge associated with unique strongboxes then it's worth throwing chance orbs at white boxes. They have a pretty high chance (comparatively) to roll a unique. Just make sure you know which base items roll the unique that you need and only focus on those.

3. Diviners Strongbox. This is the only one actually worth stopping for in the game now and rolling properly. The main goal here is increased card drops so anything that increases that is what you want.

i always do this

arcanist. if white transmute/aug and alt until +additional items/quantity of items. if rare just id and open.

armourer. if in an area high enough for 6l. alch + vaal orb otherwise just transmute.

artisan. if rare just id and open. if white transmute+aug and open.

blacksmith. if in an area high enough for 6l. alch + vaal orb otherwise just transmute.

cartographer. you will never find this

diviner. make it yellow. use alch+scouring or chaos until you get a double quantity roll. it usually only takes a few rolls.

gemcutter. i just transmute and aug/alt these until i get gems have experience or gems have quality (a good roll) and open.

jeweller. make it yellow. you may wanna vaal it for those corruptions. typically generates more rare items as well.

large/ornate. make it yellow and open.

normal strongbox. make it blue. give it a prefix and suffix and open.
