how can i tell if a jewel is active?
from my observations i have no visual or written cue to know if a jewel that requires a certain stat or allocation is fufilled.
am i missing something? ie violent dead or other skill jewels Last bumped on Jun 2, 2017, 4:13:23 PM

For one, treshold jewels only require a certain amount of attributes within a certain radius; simply counting nodes is enough. :) (they used to require X allocated attributes, but this is no longer the case)
Second, when hovering over a Jewel Socket, any active modifiers will be listed in the black textbox. |

thanks for info,
though it appears that it does not display anything for the zombies with violent dead. i placed them to the left and right of scion start so it has 40 int in the radius for the requirement odd. |

Hm, really? That is odd indeed; there's certainly plenty of Int around, the Violent Dead Jewel is in-effect. I'll keep it in mind should the issue come up again.

If you placed them in those jewel sockets closest to the scion start then the reason is simple: there isn't more than 30 in in the radius. You'd have to go to the sockets that are next to the nodes which connect the scion area with the rest of the skill tree, that should do the trick.
I make dumb builds, therefore I am.

" there is a major node giving 20 and two small nodes giving 5 then a normal int 10 all within range. perhaps you missed the 2 5s i even tried the jewel up and to the left where i had 70 int in range (and allocated) and it still would not display anywhere that i had this effect |

Can you post any screenshots? POE has a built-in screenshot button, which is F8. It tends to save in default directory Documents\My Games\Path of Exile\Screenshots assuming you're Windows. I think C:\Users\{yourname}\My Documents\My Games\Path of Exile\Screenshots would be the full path.
You can then post a screenshot like that on imgur.com. I like to right click the image preview and Open in New Tab to get the actual image URL (otherwise you get a weird share URL thta doesn't work with {img} tags on this forum), and then post. You can compare and contrast with these: Need game info? Check out the Wiki at: https://www.poewiki.net/
