Max\Configurable GUI width for Multi Monitor
I'll start by saying I know this has been posted in the past however I never was able to find GGG's response and whether it's still a possibility in the future or not, so I figured I'd re-post in the hopes of either getting it looked at or even just a definitive answer that this is either a possibility or will never happen.
Now, the game already supports triple monitor setups - and it looks great. I can boot it up right now and run it across all 3 screens; it doesn't provide an advantage, and the immersion is fantastic. The issue is the GUI - it doesn't have a fixed maximum width and as such it will stretch the width of your resolution. This means with triple setups your health and mana orbs are in the far corners of your left and right screens which makes it basically unplayable. I work in IT as a semi-dev and fully understand the complexities of what may seem simple changes, but I was wondering the possibility of the game either defaulting or having an option to give the GUI a maximum width, such as 1920 pixels and snap to the middle. This means no matter how wide your resolution goes the interface will be centered in your main screen. Even better would be to specify the width of your GUI, so people who are running three 16:10 screens can specify something like 1680 wide. Again not sure how practical but can't hurt to raise as a suggestion. Of course leaving a default "stretch to width" would be a requirement as this would impact higher than 1920x1080 16:9 resolutions such as single 4k screens. Now before everyone jumps down my throat for this: a) Multi Monitor setups are becoming more and more common with the increase in GPU power and decrease in monitor costs. b) People accuse it of giving an advantage, however I don't believe this is the case - it is simply for immersion. Many competitive games offer full gui and menu support, such as CS:GO. 21:9 screens are also supported in PoE which already give a width increase, triple is just taking it a step further. Would love a response - even just to affirm that it's impractical and won't happen or that it may be looked at in the future. having the ui elements centered is a often requested change.
huge resolutions don't really give an advantage, the server serialises only partial info to the client about monsters and ingame items (strongboxes and stuff). i guess at 27" you can see all active ingame assets already. offline
