Sell ascendancies

A wild idea. What if players who like doing labyrinth or dont mind doing it could choose to either ascend themselves or fuse that ascendancy knowledge (at the ascendancy altar) into some sort of blank book, gem or any other type of magical device and sell it to those who dont like doing labyrinth or dont want to do it for whatever reasons there might be (similarly like NPC's have skill books). Rewards for doing labyrinth would not only be enchants but also ascendancy knowledge which could be passed to another players.

possibilities:

1. Blank book, gem or any other type of magical device could come as a rare drop from death of Izaro. rarity would determine how many of those you want in the market.

2. blank items could be sold by NPC's for like 20 chaos orbs (for example) to set minimum base value.

3. Another possibility is that those blank items could come as microtransactions. A consumable which could be bought and sold again and again. Blank item could not be traded immediately, could come in a form similar to a quest item. Someone who bought it would have to do the labyrinth, fuse ascendancy knowledge into that item and just then sell, would have to invest time into doing labyrinth, could not bypass it and do quick $ conversion into currency.

So, tl;dr players selling ascendancy knowledge to another players, what do you think?

While I like the idea, Chris has essentially stated that it'll never happen and that it's against GGG's policy.

GGG has always wanted players to work through the game, not being able to buy their way through. Which means the likely-hood of them implementing this is near zero.

Good idea tho!

Thanks! I understand Chris reasoning, though in my opinion freedom to choose (and skip what you dont want to do) isn't necessarily a bad thing. Give players many opportunities/activities to do in game and let players choose what they want to do and how they want to play, no need to force everything on them. People are already skipping some side areas, some side quests, some maps, some gear progression by simply buying better one etc to suit their gameplay needs better, to achieve what they want and enjoy in the game. Different people like different things.

Edit:
A good example is "EVE online" game. There are literally hundreds of different activities you can participate in, players are free to do whatever they enjoy, aren't forced to take part in every single game mechanic game has to offer.

But you can buy through all other progression obstacles. Only the atypical (from ARPG perspective) labyrinth cant be fully bought.
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!
I missed this thread completely. Thanks to Regulator's post in the "big" thread noting that he'd added this idea to the OP of his thread, I was able to find this thread. Anyway, I've added Toshis8 to the account name list and this thread to the thread list. Over 310 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 760 posters in support
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!
