Quest Reset - Giving the option to restarting/redoing a quest
GGG, by mistake i helped Oak in merciless difficulty. Now, i want to kill him. I want my passive skill point instead of the 8% life.
If we have orbs of respec, why not having orbs of requesting? Or, in the quest menu, give the opportunity of restarting/redoing that quest. Maybe you can do it as one isolated act? I really want to kill Oak and be rewarded with a passive skill. Legacy Ladder: RavenXX Ranger 75

On every point in this quests storyline, (when speaking with every of the 3 bandits) it tolds you that your choice is final and definitive... so I assume its not intended and therefor will be no way to make it undone. (that's how a roleplay works: live with your decisions) ^^

They have already implemented a way to reset the quests.

" Small nitpick: it's 45 life, not +8% life. Also, the +% life passives treat that 45 life as if it was part of your base life. Urist McDwarfy has been happy lately. He admired an exceptional ARPG recently. He took joy in slaughter lately. He has been attacked by the dead recently.

Would be nice if the quest can get reset whenever you finishes a difficulty....at this point, i would say diablo has it right....
I mean, this game offers crazy customization capability, why wouldn't the game also allow us to correct out mistakes? I mean no one said that the quest reward was going to be a passive point until i went onto wiki and did my research. I think it wasn't completely fair to the players as far as i can tell since the reward was not informed ahead of time. |

"small nitpick: you're almost an entire year too late on this discussion. 1 year ago the reward was +45 life. Facepalm. |

well how about just letting us redo this one?
of course - removing the previous bonus we recived upon starting to redo the quest - if skill point was the reward there needs to be a free skill point in order to begin the redo. I'd appreciate that too, cause because of party play and some confusion about the rewards i got +12% on my spell witch :/ |

i just had a similar issue as the OP. after fighting oak on cruel difficulty 4-5 times and dying every time with my arc totem templar, i was trying to just click through his dialogue and when i accidentally hit the 'help' button. since i had already killed the other 2 bandits, clicking help on accident immediately completed the quest and gave me the 12% physical damage bonus.
since im using ancestral bond, i CANNOT deal physical damage myself and would have to use ranged totems or bear trap or something. i am completely specced into lightning damage; it would take something like 55 orbs or regret to even get to a point that the 12% phys damage would help at all. i know, this is my fault for being in a hurry and not paying enough attention, but its pretty frustrating to know that this character is now totally boned out of a skill point, and instead has a reward that is almost impossible for me to use. i think in the case of this quest, it wouldnt be a horrible idea to let players rechoose. maybe even make it so you can kill the last bandit after you have sided with him as long as the map doesnt reset or something. or give a small "are you sure?" dialogue box when you make the very last choice, since quest completion is immediate and permanent. if you accidentaly click the wrong choice before the last bandit, you can just die and rechoose or change your mind if you clicked help when you meant to click kill. it is literally a momentary mistake that has now rendered this character broken to me. i know, hes still perfectly usable, but i am a perfectionist when it comes to character building, and knowing that i missed out on the skill point will bother me to no end. its one of the core reasons i like this game so much; it allows you to fine tune your character in so many ways. allright, thats my 2 cents. im just really pissed at myself for making such a stupid and permanent error thats pretty much trashed my favorite character so far. /endrant |

I can't find it, but someone said that Chris had talked in an interview about adding some sort of system to let you choose your rewards again (at some cost I think similar to Orbs of Regret).
Mine's not as big a deal as yours, but I'd really like to redo mine too. Last edited by Luvz#0162 on Feb 15, 2013, 4:12:56 AM
