Black screen after 2.5.4 patch

After updating to 2.5.4 only a black screen with the mouse cursor shows when I open the poe client. I can see in the logs if I press enter it detects I'm logging in from a new location, and then has an abnormal disconnect. Lets start from simplest:

Go to your "My Documents" folder, find Path of Exile dir, open production_config.ini with Notepad++ (or similar editor), find & replace:

borderless_windowed_fullscreen=false
to
borderless_windowed_fullscreen=true

fullscreen=true
to
fullscreen=false

directx_version=auto
to
directx_version=11 (or 9 if you want to use Dx9)

PS: Window's default notepad will not work, use something with proper UTF-8 support, like Notepad++

If nothing changed:

- Run PackCheck.exe, wait until its done and try to launch your game again.
- Archive content of ShaderCache folder (near Client.exe) and then cleanup this dir, run game again.
- Disable Windows Aero
- Enable/Disable shaders cache in your video card settings (if you have such option)

And if your screen is still black, ask GGG support using email (they don't read or not answering in Tech. support forum..): techsupport@grindinggear.com

Thanks for the quick reply, it seems to be working now after I changed directx from auto to 11. Everything else was already set that way. Really appreciate the help!
