Crown of Eyes Double Dip Question

Hi there,

Im currently building around blade flurry assassin with the weapon linked above. Doing almost pure chaos damage.
Since Im using crown of eyes(40%increased tooltip dps), all damage source comes from the weapon's flat chaos and added chaos gem. And all the spell damage is converted to chaos dmg.
Im now strggling with jews, just wondering does spell dmg on jew double dips with poison? Cuz im dealing pure chaos dmg and spell dmg can only benefit chaos through crown of eyes.

Sry for my bad English, have fun guys.

No, it won't double dip, CoE just makes spell damage increases apply to your attack damage, nothing more, and poison isn't attack damage.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

I understand that attack damage cant double dip, but chaos dmg should right?
So only increased chaos dmg on jew would double dip? Other wise spell dmg can only benefit my initial hit?

The chaos damage portion of your blade flurry tooltip does 'attack, melee, AoE, chaos' damage, poison is based on damage you did and does 'DoT, AoE, chaos' damage. That means 'chaos' or 'AoE' damage increases will apply to both, effectively double dipping, but 'attack' or 'DoT' bonuses will affect only one of them.

What Crown of Eyes does is add another property to your attacks so for blade flurry it's 'attack, melee, spell, AoE, chaos' (though it's valid only for spell damage increases), and it won't do anything for your damage over time. Some spells, like Essence Drain have a property that makes them natively apply spell damage to any damage over time resulting from the spell, including poison, it's a bit different from that what CoE does.

Yeah, too bad Rabid Rhoa doesn't give you a dagger, you can get nifty items with it.

Well, you can get similar results simply by buying ilvl 83+ and Alt-spamming, the affix is not terribly rare:

Yeah, I know, had the misfortune to craft a few things from scratch now and then. And I'd prefer it if you refrained from bursting my bubble, I like to believe some things in the game are more useful than they really are. :)
