Blade Flurry: Release at 6, or keep channeling?

Title question, when using Blade Flurry, is it better to channel to 6 then release the stacks for the burst, and rinse and repeat? Or should I be continuing to channel at 6 until i think the burst will kill something and only release it then? I have my own opinions from playing with it, but i don't have a lot of experience with it yet and wanted to hear from people who might know more about it than me! Thanks for any and all feedback!

Release at 6 for maximum long-term DPS

More likely, you'd do this until you think you can kill them with less than 6 stacks, at which point you stack to X and then release, where X is learned from experience

Why? The release strikes benefit from the stage bonus of whatever you release at, so you are literally more than doubling your damage if you release at 6.

However, it bothers me when I have to advise people on "the best" or "maximum DPS." Play the way you want to! If channeling past 6 feels more comfortable to you, then keep doing it.

Thanks for the answer! Also definitely a fan of play how you like, luckily my gut feeling from what i saw was also to release at 6, so perfect! :D Thanks again for the help!
For trash and easy bosses, the extra 0.05seconds you save by going the most dps-efficient route isn't worth the extra effort required to time it perfectly IMO.

Against damage sponges like certain bosses and essence mobs, though, you should have a good rythm for getting the most damage.

im currently lvl 86 and stuck, keep getting one shotted, ive come to the conclusion that i am clearly doing something wrong with bladeflurry. sometimes it feels like im not even hitting anything. what are the mechanics to properly use this skill? FYI im a noob and only 2 weeks into the game, loving it so far
When you have ruthless in your BF (and you seem to have), the best way is to first apply to short attacks. Then keep channelling with full ruthless double damage until target is dead.

(Not sure if conc effect is the way to go, I'd maybe use crit chance instead...
The AoE of BF is very low on conc effect.)

if u feel like ur not hitting with flury release immediately and rechannel it. Ive been getting that from time to time, I hold down, its doing the animation and its like its disappearing, Im not connecting with anything, not leeching back. I dunno if its a bug or what but recast right away cause it doesnt seem to start hitting again until you do.

Oh, neat, I didn't think Ruthless would count skill use and not Hits. Is there any indicator right now to see if Ruthless will be active or not?

No, there's no visual or audible indication for ruthless, you'll have to count.
(except the faster dropping health of the boss you're hitting, of course)
